Cykur is right, taking out large groups of gun emplacements can be very expensive ship wise. Much better to upgrade the starbase, let it do the hard work for you without you losing ships needlessly

not at all. By your same logic, that would render assault cruisers useless too. after all, they are only useful once the enemy fleet is engaged elsewhere, or they become extramely tasty canon fodder. And a starbase is so much more useful than just for the clearing of structures, it acts as an block to a counter offensive.

I really like how you dont need expensive hardware to run games from you guys. Its really refreshing compared to some recent games (cough empire cough)

The starrbases arent meant to be even. The vasari dont have assault cruisers, so this is their only real structure attacker. And dont look at individual units for blancing issues, just how the whole picture fits together.

I think the posibility of having one super cap ship is somethign worth investigating. It should however be horifically expensive, and require 7 or so combat research stations. As for the extra cruisers and stuff, a lot of what your saying is just more powerful versions of ships we have, so not much point. You would also end up with far too many types to be easy to handle. And we certainly dont need more structure busting ability. Can you remember the condemnation of the assault shi

Ive had the exact same thing happen to me gotyaoi. I have no idea, i thought it was their expensive attempt at scouting the planet.

Ive got to agree with many people whove commented so far, cap ships ARE useful. Ok maybe not on the first level, but there is nothing more awesome than a a few lvl 9 cap ships plowing through the enemTell me then that they arent worth 5 HCs. (though i do admit they should be a mite more powerful)

Wow, well don guys, thats a hell of a lot of changes! But it shows that you have been listening to the forums, which is what we like to see!

I agree that it is useful for credit earnings, and fighter coverage, but ive found that the AI never hangs around a star, even if its garrisoned, they always jump to another planet. so its an extremely costly decision to build and upgrade 4 in one star! What is the total cost? 50000 Cr +god knows how much crystal

For any large fleet, a single, very basic starbase shouldnt stop a determined attack, they really dont last long at that stage unless they are supported. But I agree getting them to the 8/8 slots used situation is INSANELY expensive. 4 cap ships worth, and is it worth it, maybe... I dont think it should be changed though, it may be expensive atm, but i works better than a month ago :P

The trade ships sometimes dont move (same as lots of refinery ships), but that shouldnt make a difference, you should still get the income from them. And i honestly dont know about the length thing then, youll have to ask a dev :P

Sometimes the line wont back upon itself, at a greater than 180 degrees, was this the case with you?

I agree, this is one of the single great vasari advantage, given their disadvanteges, giving it to tec would be insanely unfair. And capturing enemy structures would defeat half the gameplay of sins.

This is related to this topic, but ive found that once navies build up, the pirates become completely useless, as there fleets never enlarge. Its quite ammusing really! I think a return to the norm sins way of having increasingly large pirate fleets are called for!

They wont put any new tech areas on for this expansion, maybe next one, though it seems too much of a small thing to change!

Ive found this too... Again 3v3 all hard ai, but the ai seems completely determined not to leave his planet and attack me, even when outnumbering me 2:1 (him with ~200 ships against my ~100). I think it might be that he sees a full 'bar', and decides it would be 1:1 and doesnt want those odds. I really dont know though :S
