Technically we got 23hours 15mins to go. Depending on Time Zone of course. Hell, In Australia I think it might even be the 26th by now. WHUR IS IT?!

This is the stuff pure win is made out of. I've done my share of light trolling for the lulz, but there's a clear line between "Sarcastic dick" and "Inexcusable asshole". I applaude the Devs convictions and like someone else said, the whole "The Customer is always right, and the provider is always responsible" mentality is laughable in the best case scenarios. It's refreshing to see someone who can really point out the obvious and take a stand against
What are you talking about PJIs rule if you know how to use em. They can effectively keep enemy from roaming your territory as is. But I only build them if enemy is either roaming or gets lvl 6 egg so he doesnt go around eating my planets. If he tries with a PJI all over my epmire i can send a smalll fleet and he will lose his cap.
They have their purpose of course. Namely delaying "rush" attacks

The Starbases are now incredibly powerful it seems. With only Flak Support I had a fully upgraded Argonev in orbit around a Gas Giant (So no other defenses) and it annihilated an Unfair AI's massive fleet (Though took substantial damage) The Fully Upgraded starbases are truly a force to be reckoned with now (As they should be). This boost seems to have affected all defensive structures, Gauss Platforms, even pre Meson bolt and Rockets seem to be

Well, we don't even know what Galaxy this is taking place in, but assuming it's the Milky way, if you have any astronomical background, that's highly unlikely as our Solar System (Sol) is located on an outer spiral arm of the Milky way and not near the galactic core where the Vasari's attacks began. A more likely culprit for the Vasari slowly being killed off. Think of it, The Vasari conquer worlds and rule from Orbit, the likelyhood of an idiginous rebellion are

The balancing problem was weighed versus Cost effectiveness versus other units of the same tech. And most Light Carrier spams come early in the game before research on a phase jump inhibitor is completed. Combined with the near instant build rate of SC from earlier versions, Light Carriers were grossly overpowered and have since been reduced to a more balanced state. Light Carriers are still very powerful in Entrench Beta 3 and are often the prefered m

By Memory issue I meant Memory amount, I really should have been more clear on that lol (The dude was wondering if he had enough memory). The 8600GT is a pretty shatty card I think. If you're looking to run at a smooth framerate at high resolution, it's obviously not the best option, but you could do worse.

It's 100% not a memory issue. and for the record 32 BIT OS's are LIMITED TO 3.5GB of Memory, But during even HUGE RANDOM map my Available memory is 1.3GB. From checking the Task Manager, I think everything here is true indeed that something is amiss in the processor department. Only one Core is working, and that core is only ever working for me at 50% so I have no idea what's going on. Currently I'm playing a Huge Random with 9AI's and it runs well unt

I think with beta 3 the carrier frigates are fine now. If you spam 200 of anything, you're gonna have a crazy powerful force no matter what, even with Cobalt light frigates (Try it with sabotage reactor!). Think of it logically, if 1000 bombers are swarming around 1 ship, how long til you think it should be destroyed? But now with the new build rate penalty, the unfair, free and endless swarm was balanced I think, and the Anti Strike Craft cruisers range increase helped quit

I like Sins of a Solar Empire. Period. More specifically I really like the balancing you guys have done. While a lot complain that all the factions are too similar (IE just reskinned) that is actually a gross overexaggeration. While it's significantly more similar than something you might see in maybe Command and Conquer or Starcraft, it's the similarities that keep everything very well balanced while giving each faction their own feel. I'm not sure if this was intended, as the change log only says Carrier cruisers, but all capital ships as well have a penalized fighter/bomber production if enemies are in the gravity well. The particularly hurts the carrier Capital ships. This doesn't seem to happen with Defensive fighters (Hangars, Starbases).

I get this problem particularly in late games, it's a little annoying cause it's nice to see all your worker bees buzzing around your empire. But on a more gameplay oriented side, it also stops you from being able to hunt down the enemies for quick credits.

I have done dozens of LAN's at least, never internet as my ISP sucks for pretty much any online game I've played. Even in entrench betas I never get any sync problems. But that's just the problem with PC games I guess, the plethora of possible configurations and variables makes it mind boggling to find and defeat every imperfection.

Found that slippery folder finally, if it helps the other guy. Run a file/folder search in your main storage drive (Probably C) for Galaxy. Pick the folers and get rid of any custom maps. This worked on the fly, I even had entrenchment running still. Thanks, even though I never modded anything, the folder wasn't showing up. For whatever reason with maps I havn't seen since I got the Original sins a few months ago. But it seems cleared up, thanks

Can't seem to find what you've mentioned. Deleted any non official maps from the Galaxy folder, Not seeing anything like that in the AppData folder. Now the minidump is happening when it goes from scenario select. Whenever it passes the Large Scenarios, either by right clicking from small, or left clicking cycling through small/medium/Large/CRASH

Thanks for the speedy replies. I'll try that. I might be slightly more irritated if the Mass Effect 2 teaser hadn't come out today!

Running into minidumps immedietly starting the game outside of Impulse. Also whenever selecting map designer. *Addendum. Whenever Impulse is closed a minidump happens as well. Such as through alt-tabing already during the game. I can't seem to locate where the Minidumps are stored at, even typing in the whole file path yields nothing past Administrators documents. which have been searched high and low.

No desintegrations: Destroy 10 Vasari Starbases. That's what She said: Destroy 10 Advent Starbases. In TEC Argonev, Fleet owns you: Destroy 10 TEC starbases. (Maybe i'm wrong, but it seems TEC starbases have semi-Slavic names) (Numbers arbitrary) Put the Star in Starbase: Build the maximum amount of Starbases in a Stars gravity well. Hornets nest: Have over 50 squads deployed in a sing

The ability to Militarize a planet, changing it's infrastructure from Civilian to Military, giving the planet Surface to Orbit defensive weaponry able to strike throughought the Gravity well. The power is based off Population cap, and it could work in reverse of Tax income, where high population militarized planets would cost a lot to maintain. This would have been great for Entrenchment, since really the drawing of battle lines doesn't quite exist as you can just fly around starb

KOL battleship. It looks so ruthless and contrasts so heavily with the TEC's other hastily converted ships. Honorable Mentions. Radiance Class Battleship. Skiranrta Carrier.

Okay, first I should say, the AI is very good in Sins of a Solar Empire, but there are some stupid things it does that really take away from the fun. I'm sure this has been bitched at before but it obviously wasn't fixed (At least completely) so here goes a rant. The overall goal would be to replace Annoying stategy by the AI with actually threatening. If I wanted annoying, I'd play online and have some guy constantly talk about how teh ahwsum he iz 4 teh most bestest winn o
Quoting Deflagratio, reply 22 I think, if anything, As Darvin3 said, capital ships need to be somehow less suceptible to Heavy cruiser force fire, especially the Vasari's shield bipassing attack which is just broken as all hell(Renders the Dunov completely useless). Maybe a passive ability common to all Capital ships like "DAMAGE SCREEN":. Any Frigates or Cruisers within a certain range of the Capital sh
