All these buffs are too small. It needs a significant buff to make it worth getting. 1. Make the planetary shield give itself the shield bonuses as well to make its HP/Shields very high like around 5000/5000 2. Give all other structures in the Grav Well a 15% shield bonus ( turrets don't have shields but will gain a small shield due to this) 3. Give all Capital Ships, Cruisers, (No frigates) AND STARBASES in the Grav Well a "projecting shield" for a 10% bon

Honestly I think both DoW1 and DoW2 is inferior to the real Dawn of War which is Tabletop. Nothing beats displaying your painstakenly painted armies and customizing your army to the player interaction at the gaming group/club. If it only wasn't so expensive to get into that hobby... ($250-$400 for 2000 pt. army)

I guess we can all universally say this needs a buff. But how? I think it shouldn't be a obital structure period but a planetary upgrade to make it hard as nails with Emergency Facilities stacking on its bonuses. It should make every level of Emergency Facilities give 15/30/45% extra health to the planet's HP. isn't the point of this SUPPOSED to protect the planet from ABOVE? So having a space station projecting the shield to below makes no sense.

I've wondered about this upper level technology on the Civic Tree. Its either 4 or 5 labs, so its well up there and its really expensive to research and make. How does it work? I build the thing, and we get a satillete dish pointing towards the planet but the structure itself only has I believe 3000 or 2000 hit-points. So anyone wanting to just negate the benefits of it could just destroy the obital thing and it would go poof right?

It should be noted additionally that: Fighters > Bombers Torpodeo Crusiers > Starbases Scouts > LRF, spam them 3:1 ratio and they work very well esp. against illuminators and hence the revival of the scout spam. Davin3 confirmed this. Flak > LRFs, just drive into the middle of them to let your Flaks be able to use all their access gunports and the LRFs will go poof if they don't move. Hoshinkos > everything. IRONCLAD, if its money you guys are concerned about I highly reccommed Relic's approach to their games. STAND-ALONE expansions. Create another race (probably the race Vasari was running from) and add an additional cap ship for the three original races and an additional frigate then package it all and market it as a BRAND NEW GAME GUYS! Why waste 2.5 years of work on the original game plus entrenchment and diplomacy to make SINs 2 when you could just recycle all the good

What is PJI? How can you build mines in enemy or neutral grav wells? I thought only construction frigates could build them. Last I checked we didn't have a mine-layer frigate in SINs right? Also I heard that the Vasari mines can move? Is this right? Lastly what is a ruiner?

Actually is there a auto-hit penalty in colonizable ASTERIODs vs. empty asteroid fields? That would actually make Targetting uplink more useful since there are lots of fights over Asteriods.

In the strategy unit guide: Unit Guide: FAQ [complete] » Forum Post by Raging Amish The Raging Amish pretty much said this: Ability 3: Targeting Uplink - This ability rarely has its uses. Don't put upgrades into this. I just d

Alright back before when Entrenchment was announced Ironclad said it would be the FIRST of THREE expansions for SINS. The first would focus on defense, the second on civic/diplomacy and the last one on combat and ships. THE MOST DESIRABLE one of the three got cancelled now? What gives Ironclad? Does anyone remember their miserable excuse for cancelling the last micro-expansion? Would rage-posts and rants and hate mail to Ironclad help change their minds? [e dig

Dawn of War 2 expansion: Chaos rising is coming out in March. Also DoW2 has been made a LOT better thru the patches since the beta. It is almost a completely different game. Of course... if you can't stand Company of Heroes which was Game of the Year in 2006 then I dunno what floats your boat. You'll probably even think StarCraft 2 stinks when it comes out. (wow.. just wow)

^ How? Darvin just told us that mines are pretty useless against human players who actually watch where they are going. On Turret farming, what number is the best for TEC turrets? 3-4? or less? also what is the optimal setup for them? wide spaced apart or bunched up close by the repair platforms?

Yes but when looking at the other Colonizer caps for the Vasari and Advent I get jealous. The Egg is by far my favorite ship: nanite desolators are amazingly brutal. Progenitor is plain OP at least a few months back. Akkan compared to them just sucks.

*I gave Darvin3 Karma because he is awesome. [e digicons][/e] What would you say is the ideal location and time to build some turrets? At choke-point worlds late-early game when you already have 3-5 worlds? Are they worth building in late-game? (even if you researched every single defense research) (I usually play TEC, sometimes Vasari) I tend to create something like a Fortress world defensive strategy. Where I build up the 1-2 chokepoint worlds with turre

Does the TEC Starbase have that upgrade where it prevents the planet from being destroyed thru bombardment until the Starbase is taken out itself? So only the TEC turrets are actually the most useful one due to the large number of upgrades they get in the defense tree.

I'm playing on my Mac right now, just on Windows 7 via bootcamp. It's basically windows on a mac computer, identical.

If turrets and hangers all had built in flaks they would be much more better because they all die so easily to SC spam since the turrets can't actually shoot at the carriers parked at the edge of the grav well.

Well honestly, if you're really really noob it pisses a lot of people off why? Because in a 3v3 game a side with a noob is basically WORSE than having the AI. It's like play 2v3 and that's extremely a put-down. Sometimes people will just give up if they find out they have a total noob (as opposed to semi-noob) on their team because the sharks in this game will eat them alive. I think the best way for a new player to minimize their noob-ness is play HYPER AGGRESSI

um, wow whoever got you that was really cheap. You could buy that for $5 on ebay. Tell them to return it and get DoW2. DoW1 was very inferior to Relic's other game Company of Heroes in almost every way. There's a new expansion coming out for DoW2 in March as well.
