I actually lost a big TEC fleet with capships and Titan to a big Advent fleet with caps and Titans. I'm not sure what happened, and the Advent had a starbase, but I think the Advent Titan was able to regenerate shields much much faster than I was expecting due to its capship support and maybe specials and maybe their starbase has something that helped it out sheild regen?. It was SURPRISINGLY tough in that situation, and I had everything including a medium levelled Rebel titan

Another option - if you want to keep exp after Titan Death: I know that some people have been underwhelmed by the Advent Titans vs the TEC. Why don't you have them keep a % of the exp after destruction? And have that % based on race/faction? Something where the weaker Advent Titans are retaining 100% of exp after destruction but TEC or Varasi are only 33%/66% or something like that. 2 Suggestions: 1) When a Titan spends its ability points, make it take some time for them to 'come online', just like when I purchase extra firepower and defense for a Starbase, it is not instantly there, it takes time for the purchase to complete before that firepower is available. If you do this, you can keep the levels and xp after Titan death (which you probably need to have to some degree b/c there is no way after losing a Titan to a Titan t

Nice to see the Advent preview yesterday - one thing I would recommend: After the Homing Mines got introduced in Entrenchment it seemed like the AI started preferring them for it's Aeria carriers, and it looked like it's still doing that. This makes one of the Advent's more powerful 'signature units' pretty lame. 4 Aeria carriers loaded with fighters and bombers gets my attention, but 4 Aeria carriers loaded with 'those little floaty thing

Also, somehow they were showing up with entire fleets of Pirate ships (big fleets) under their control/colors at one point. Taking out the Pirate planet did not help. I guess this was a tech they had researched or pact/diplomacy related purchase. Anyway, it was damn substantial when they hit like that supported with a Titan.

The AI seems to be doing substantially better from previous releases in terms of fleet support for caps and titans. I've been playing on Large, Multi Star with all AIs set to Random personality and Hard. Usually the first AI I hit falls pretty hard but the next two show up with reasonable to challenging fleet sizes, Kodiaks , Caps, Javelins, Carriers and often a Titan. I have not seen much improvement with it at all; I am running .61 and I am still seeing capital ships that retreat and capital ships with no fleets. This is a fleet battle game. 'Unprecedented scale' right on the splash page. Even at 'Normal' levels, the AI should be able to put together a large fleet around 1 or more capital ships and put that fleet into action to expand and build a larger fleet. Originally, the pirate raiders used to include planet bombers; that made them a lot tougher - but those went away with Diplomacy. I wish they would bring them back, or at least have a game option that includes them.

Good post. The Titans are awesome, but waaay overpowered, unless they want to rename this expansion 'Release the KRAKEN!'. I think they should be more 'late game' - instead of titan tech starting at 1 military research lab, start it at 3 or 4. Its kind of silly you can have your titan before some of the later game Cruisers, neh?

I agree - something in the AI is too tame now; in the first SINS the thing was great; it would make huge fleets and tenaciously hold onto a planet. I remember a fleet battle that lasted well over 30 minutes; I had to retreat cap ships and repair them and send them back into it... now, since Diplomacy its gone WAY downhill. It doesn't even seem to be building more than 1 capital ship in this version even on Unfair. I have not seen it try a Titan yet. Is it depress
