No i'm pretty sure you will have to have entrenchment to be able to have SB/mines etc. But if you have both micros i'm fairly certain they will work together, it's been said somewhere else I believe.
That's what I mean, kind of.
I know that Sins is primarily a war game, but I would like sometimes to play a more diplomacy centered game, at least with some of the AI's in the game. Thats what the second micro-expansion is all about: diplomacy.
Ah yes, of course. :) will these micro expansions contain all of the features of the previous ones...? Like, will the Diplomacy expansion have starbases and mines?
I know that Sins is primarily a war game, but I would like sometimes to play a more diplomacy centered game, at least with some of the AI's in the game. So I wish there were three buttons to set three different 'states' for all your ships. state 1 would be normal, attack everything you see. But I'd also like two other options, state 2 would be to close in, but not fire unless fired upon, and state 3 would completely ignore other ships. Sometimes
This is a strange problem indeed. When I play Sins, and then quit the game, it kills my PC's sound completely. It only comes back after a reboot. I didn't realize at first that this problem only occurred while playing Sins, at first I thought it was a random sound problem. But after much testing, I have narrowed it down to happening only after I quit Sins. The problem happens both when I use my Yamaha sound card, and also the on-board sound
I believe in Entrenchment they changed the cobalt voice, and possibly others. The cobalt is definitely different.
I'm right there with ya, old man. :)
Hi! Solution -- don't be a wuss, and come play Sins in online multiplayer (aka the real Sins game) against live human opponents. I watched some games of "pro" players. I really haven't got the impression they're that good... ... until I ran a small 20-planets all-normal game vs. one unfair AI, but with one limitation: WITHOUT PRESSING A PAUSE
I have to say that the notion of playing against "challenging human opponents" doesn't appeal to me at all, because most of the time, these "challenging human opponents" are obnoxious, they quit the game when things don't go their way, they exploit weaknesses in the game to their ends and in general just aren't fun to play against. I'd take really good AI--ala galciv2 or sins--over a human opponent any day. Then I can play slowly at my own pace...I can play for an hour, then pause
Does this work with Entrenchment 1.02?
Quoting Annatar11, reply 19Alright, here's the download for the Entrenchment version of the mod. In theory, it should also work for Vanilla Sins 1.15 but I have not had the time to test it. Installation of the mod is slightly different. Every patch version now creates its own mod folder. If you have Entrenchment 1.01 (and you should), and you don't see the "Mods-Entrenchm
Someone brought up real life carriers...well, those ships are covered in AA guns to protect from bombing runs. So looking at it that way, maybe they should have light AA. maybe 2 guns instead of the flak frigates 4. Not to go attack with, just for defending from fighters. **I think carriers should have Novalith Cannons mounted on them** :P
Ok guys, if people have fun doing this maybe it can be pinned. Post your coolest screenshots. I have a couple at home I'll throw up after work. Thanks all!
Please see the subject. Is there one? And if not, why? I think that would be cool... :)
I turned pirates to 'inactive' after my first game and never looked back. I found them super-annoying.
seems to be good now...thanks Kryo. :)
Hi guys, love Stardock, love Impulse...just bought Entrenchment and when I run Impulse it say it can't connect to the server and is working in offline mode. Can anyone help...I'd like to play Entrenchment now. Thanks all... :)
Guys guys guys...look at Impulse this way: EVERY single PC game that has downloadable updates forces you to use some kind of third party software to download it. Most games require downloading and installing Firefox or IE, or another browser, and using it's download manager to download their updates. With Stardock, you download and use Impulse. What's the difference, really? either way you are having to install (if you don't have a browser already) and use an ext
man, that's one long sentence. and it doesn't even end in a period. :D
How do you pause? With the Pause/Break button. Up there on the right by the Scroll Lock & PrtScrn (Print Screen) buttons. I wonder if the ` button to "unpin" all (and then just repin what u need), would stop the empire tree from jumping all around?
I learn something new about this game every day :) I don't see the 'pause' command in the key bindings though...

For me, the really slow pace is a huge plus. It feels more turn based, which is exactly what I want...
How do you pause?
Ya, it annoys me very much but usually I just put everything on pause and they do all the changes I want to make and then unpause, it really cuts down on the frustrations

Why do I get the feeling the majory of the most, ah... vocal segment of the community that hates impulse are ones that haven't bought the game and therefore cannot update?
I ABSOLUTELY agree with this statement. Although all you guys will deny it to your dying day, if you're on here whining about having to register your game and use Impulse to get updates, that means you stole the game.
I find Impulse to be extremely convenient and efficient. I like it a lot, it makes updating all stardock games quick and easy. Also, when I reformatted my HDD and needed to reinstall Sins, but couldn't put my hands on the CD easily; I simply logged into Impulse and redownloaded the entire game!
