Now don't get me wrong, I love Entrenchment and I love starbases, I just would like to see their area of effect increased. Maybe to a phase jump inhibitor sized circle...
but to actually kill the SB you have to divert almost all of your SC to do so which allows your opponent to jump in a fleet and thrash you with their SC and Ships
so the SB alone can't really defend a gravity well? Isn't that what they were designed to do? Protect a GW while you take your fleet out for an attack...?
This is why I never, ever play multiplayer. At least the AI is consistent. And it doesn't mind if you pause or save and continue the game later.
True, but when you run away from a gravity well with a Starbase (even to retreat), you lose 30% of all of your ships health and all of your ships antimatter. Which means if you skip a starbase, not only is your escape route extremely dangerous, but you're fleet is easy pickings if you happen to run into an enemy fleet soon afterwards. Also late game most planets have a starbase at every planet, so trying to just run to the enemies homeworld without
...because you can simply avoid their area of effect. Even the moving Vasari Orkus can easily be run from. I think SB's range should be the entire gravity well. Except maybe for a blind spot on the opposite side of the planet the SB is next to.
This is the first I've seen this. After a hull breach on an enemy frigate with some ship debris and flames erupting out, I noticed burnt corpses floating through space. This is an awesome level of detail. I am running Bailknight's graphics mod, does anyone know if this is part of that mod. See pics below: <
actually, I have a great solution for the OP. see the two SoaSE icons? one says 'entrenchment' and one doesn't...click the one that doesn't. Because clearly Entrenchment is not for you. You're complaining about all the things that make starbases's great.
you mean the ones he posted under the line Distant Stars Mod Shots?
isn't the orange skybox a standard one in Entrenchment?

well heck, I started a pics thread a while ago and it didn't really go anywhere. :( https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/346316
The addition of random events might not be a bad idea for single player...
Exactly, and in a strategy game like this, single player is infinitely more important than multiplayer.
Regarding the music CD. I would really like to get it. I purchased retail SINS and purchased and downloaded Entrenchment, can I at some point download this CD? I think this should be available to anyone who has purchased the game. Especially since the music CD is just an extra, and not a retail product by itself. Thanks.
You got it dead on.
Could I impose upon you to link to the one that works with Entrenchment 1.03...? :)
I AM running zonealarm. I'll add entrenchment to the ok list and see if that works... Thanks :)
Hi guys, I think I finally would like to give multiplayer a go. So on the Entrnchment main menu I click Ironclad Online, then I setup an account. I enter a username, password, cd key, and email, click ok or apply...and Entrenchment just completely locks up. I have to do a hard reset. Has this happened to anyone else...? Thanks.
Umm, just a comment. Game development is not a democracy. I truly hope that Ironclad only gives these suggestions a passing glance, but they ultimately should make the game that they want to make. Some people will love it, and some won't. But the last thing the SINS makers should do is change the game based on a forum vote. By taking everyones suggestions and trying to make a game that pleases everyone, they will end up with a broken mess of a game.
Definitely get Entrenchment. There is no reason not to play it, and $10 is a steal. I don't play multiplayer because I like the pace of playing large maps against many AI opponents. In multiplayer, the goal seems to kill your opponent as quickly as possible, which is not why I play Sins. I would probably only play Sins MP with friends in the same room, a la LAN party or something.[/qu
What if you broke your fleet into two fleets, a decoy fleet and a main fleet. Phase jump the decoy fleet, and then maybe 1 minute later, send in the main fleet. He'd probably blow his MB load at your decoys and then the cavalry would arrive to clean house. **I know this is Sins noob 101 tactics here...I'm new to the game** :)
Best $10 I ever spent. Get it! It adds really cool backgrounds as well as the new units.
ok that didnt work how do I actually upload photos without it just showing a blank space?
do you have the images hosted on a website somewhere?
I kinda like this one too. Kol battleship, autocannons blazing, with another off to the right, nuking an asteroid. Teamwork!
Here's a couple from my last game...I'm in love with starbases, note the burning hunks of Vasari capital ships in the last pic. :) <img src="http://rickshanahan.smugmug.com/g

Can you imagine what i thought about?
I'm a firefox user too...who cares if you have to install IE 7? You don't ever have to use it, just install it and forget about it. Maybe I'm nuts, but I love Impulse, it's so easy, it tells me when I have
