Are there any research items that don't do anything for the game if playing this mod... as in shields?

Once you extract it, go inside the folder to get the folder called (Sins of the 13th Tribe v0.4) copy and paste it into: C:\Documents and Settings\**your profile name**\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods-Entrenchment v1.02
CNC3 Kane's wrath. I liked the vanilla CNC3, but KW didn't add too much. AOE3. The demo played okay, but the additional levels sucked. Silent Hunter IV. I hate how it takes you so freaking long to find anything to do in it.
I always right clicked the center part, and the ships went right in.
Okay, so last night I was messing around, not really playing, with the AI. I was testing out defenses, and how to use them. I started laying mines, then found out how to get gravity mines. What is the difference? Am I correct, are they not phased out? Not cloaked in any way? It seemed every time someone jumped into my grav well, they went right around the mines like they could see them.
They have surrendered to me. I pushed them back to their home world, jumped in and took care of what fleet they had left, then they gave up. I kept playing and destroyed their homeworld anyway.
I have you all beat here. Mid to late 70's, my dad bought the home version of pong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong I was a portable console you plugged into your tv, and essentially played ping pong on it, there was two dials on it, one for each side playing. At the time, something like that was on the cutting edge of what you could do at home. I remember staying up and playing almost all night with my older sister.&nb
Very cool. Thanks for the info.
This may be common knowledge, but I am curious. What happens if I need to reinstall Sins, or I need to reinstall Windows altogether. I have a hard copy of sins. Would I have to re-buy entrenchment, or could I just install Impulse, and get it upgraded again for nothing. I did the whole register my game and all that when I bought Entrenchment. Just wondering. I like to keep track of where my upgrades are.
I found that if I expand too fast, I end up sitting by doing nothing and hoping the other side doesn't attach me before I can get defenses up, and upgrade the planet so I get a positive cash flow. So, how do you know when it is time to go to another place to take that over, say another planet? After the infrastructure is upgraded a few times? How many trade ports per planet is too much? More than 3?
I've only been playing for a very short time. I mainly play single player. I was curious how fast is expanding too fast when you first start. I have been playing small maps, giving me a chance to get things down so I can learn the ins and outs. My problem is when I take over 4 of the 6 areas, I am stretched so thin, a well placed strike from the other side could wipe me out. By that time, I have my Evacuator cap ship, and maybe 2 or 3 frigates. I had been u
Wow. What size maps would you need a fleet like that on, and roughly how many planets do you have to have under your belt to get up to that size? I'm a noob, and I get anything over 15 ships I think I'm doing good. Of course, I just moved from the small maps to the medium maps, so maybe that's it.
Thanks. I have actually been using yahoo to some success. I was wondering if maybe I was doing something wrong.
Why can't I search the forums? Everytime I do I get: "Sorry, your search for 'replay' returned 0 results."
I'm relatively new at it too. What I did, was run the game with no opposing teams, (No enemy) and I made the pirates inactive, giving me a chance to learn how to colonize planets, how to set them up, upgrade the populations, earn money metal and crystal, reasearch items to get upgraded ships, how to explore, and also defenses... After I learned the Advent race's quirks, I then ran a game with myself and a normal AI on my team, locked the teams, and another f
I just bought it today. If you are playing regular sins, on the front menu page, there is an option that says "Play Entrenchment" That was how I found it.
Hello. I just got the game last week, and I am starting to climb the learning curve as best I can. Since I am unable to search the forums, keep getting errors, I am just wondering. What works when trying to build defenses around a planet? I play Advent mostly, are the beam defense platforms enough, or would it pay off to do the research and get more advanced things like the hangar and ignore the beams. What is the best way to def
