Yeah, it does. I have purchased versions both from Ironclad, and from Steam, and they both work fine with mods. The only difference is that the Steam version is auto updating.

I agree with Stress... the Borg becomes a race against the clock. If you can engage them earlier rather than later, you can really hurt them. However, if you wait until they start cranking out cubes, and start upgrading their bases and weps, they start getting insanely hard fast. They have compensated for the borg's late game uber'ness by making things like research stations very very expensive, and take many slots, which I think makes it okay. If the borg is to get to
I have a noob question here, I think I already have it figured out, but wanted to know if it was a bug, or supposed to be that way. The Borg cutting beam, is it supposed to be able to assimilate capital ships? I had a Queens Diamond guarding an asteroid choke point while taking over another planet with my other ships. After wards, I zoom in to the asteroid, and see that my QD had assimilated the enemies capital ship. I'm not complaining actually, it wa
I apologize in advance if I missed this, but is there some sort of changelog for this update?
The assimilator cube I think is tougher, but the Tactical cube can siege planets. I pair them up when moving them around, because I like having a tac cube around if my planet assimilator's get too far behind.
If you are looking for a lore appropriate faction to fit in with the mod, you should consider the Eastern Alliance... who gave the colonials trouble in the original series. I can only find the EA Destroyer online, but I imagine with a little imagination, you can mix and match enough ships to get a faction together.
There is nothing wrong with the models in this mod. So the models in a mod for another game look different, yeah so what? This is one of two mods that is why I am still playing sins, and I like the models.
Hmmm, I was just wondering... do the Klingons have any anti-structure vessels?
I still build resurrection ships, although I always have a worldstar or two right next to it. I like the fleet support abilities, and when trouble shows up, I jump it away. Any chance the Hades is going to get some skin?
No, I understand, and I am doing exactly what you two have said... just more times than not, I watch as the unit I am trying to steal is destroyed. Maybe I need to disable AA sooner, normally I am disabling it right before it gets into range.
Yeah, I gave up on building frigates long ago. It wasn't until he introduced the Gammas and the Berzerk escorts, when I started building something else. I find they just don't have that much of an impact, unless they are in a MASSIVE bulk, and then we start talking that, I would much rather have a cap anyway.
After I research the Danube class Minelayer how do I make one? Couldnt find it anywhere......Maybe just blind?
I used this with the starbase... you can build them I think either with the starbase, or with a hanger. After you build them, you can tell them where to deploy, or set it to auto, which I think automatically finds a place.
That is what I do, if there is something I want to assimilate, I turn AA off and run my cube over there. Once it hits the siege frigate with the assimilate ability, it then open fires on it and blows it up before it is complete. I have even tried to have it run away after the ability, but nothing. I can't seem to get it to work very well for me, lately, I haven't even bothered.
Just wondering out loud here, to those who are better at the Borg than I... How do I assimilate ships without destroying them? I turn auto attack off, and move them in close enough to assimilate them, then hit them with the ability... once the ship is hit... my borg cube or diamond then destroys it. I tried last game to get a decent fleet of assimilated siege ships, and ended up with 3 total, everything else I tried to take over, got destroyed.</
Just wondering about the Borg... why must I start out now with one of those pyramids instead of having resources to build a Queens Diamond without taxing myself right off the bat? I figure that was added in there as a nerf, or my PC is acting up on me again.
What about on the vanilla sins maps? has anyone notice this playing maps like systems of war, or the randon gen maps? It is what i thought a simple change, but we need to know if the problem is on all of the maps or just on the custom maps. I cant do anything about it right now, because i gotta go to work, but we will try to get it fixed later today.
It happens on Twin Empires too, the 0 metal on ice planets, and 0 crystal on volcanic
I replaced the one corrupted file from the .4E New version, and ran it for maybe 30 minutes or so in the Dev.exe and got no errors, playing as the borg.
I haven't even bothered to build the Jupiter the last few times I have played. If anything, I think if people are going to build it, it should be nerfed with regards to cost, IMO. I think the Jupiter is a game ender if you ask me. The few times I have actually built one, I have leveled it up to level 4 and jumped it in to the pirate base and let it clean it out to get it up to level 6, then ran into the enemy world and clear it out with the Nuke Barrage, long story sho
So...why don't Borg cap ships have planet bombing weapons? Who thought this was a good idea? My already strained fleet limit is made even more so by the fact that I have to have multiple planet bombing spheres just so I can take out an enemy planet. It's making the Borg unplayable for me. Is this gonna be addressed, or is this how it was meant to be?
I have assimilated what I needed... the pirate seige ships a
Yeah, I found the borg are a very tough race to play but they are extremely fun to play too. In the beginning I found that they have immense growing pains, and I can only take 5, 6, or 7 worlds before I really have to start building up defenses and crank out a few Unicomplex's. The longer the other side leaves the borg alone, the stronger the borg become. Last night I got my Uni's in place just in time to push the Federation out of my little area, and they kept them at bay u
Are you going to put out a Entrenchment version of your mod when you put the Boomer in? Diplomacy really doesn't sound like an addon I will enjoy. I play this game to destroy things and conquer worlds, not keep squabbling politicians happy, and the diplomacy additions sound like something I wouldn't use anyway.

I had a long game last night Borg (me) vs the Federation, and I must say the AI with the patch are playing differently. Last night I played on Twin Empires, a map I play a lot. The AI beat me to a certain choke point I felt I had to have, and by the time I got there, they had already put up a base, and fortified it. I managed to put up a Uni to hold them off for a while, but while I waited for the tritanium and dilithium to come in, I could see that they were massing their e
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWL9BWlSCQs I made this from a small fight my Tactica Cube had last night. I used a worm hole to get deep into Dominion territory and take over a planet. They massed a small fleet and tried to take out my cube... I think they should have brought more ships with them. No audio, Fraps hates the audio on my computer, the audio sounded over modulated, so I took it out. It's not mu
I didn't mean to insinuate that the AI's behavior is the mods fault... I have that exact same problem with the other mods I play as well. On normal, they are more stand offish than I have grown to like. I have played a few hard games, and really like the fact the AI won't just mass ships on the edge of a grav well and wait for me to jump in.
