Potential Myth 1: Scouts allow for faster expansion than light frigates Has anyone actually tested this? It seems to be the case but I learned a long time ago not to take anything for granted in sins.
Well this is an interesting one, many highly skilled players say with scouts it is faster to expand, but when I played online I never really used them for this purpose (only when my full fleet was needed somewhere really early in the game) and was

How could his name change after my first comment????? I replied to this post that was made by Tywin_idunnowho and now it says Ragnorak made this post. I did not know someone can change his username on these forums or wtf is happening? Is Sinkillr a wizard?

There are many ways of enjoying the game. One way is being the most efficient, even if this means spamming early in the game, and it helps against AI as well to have a big fleet when you meet them, and a stronger eco to supply this. Countering is extremely easy, spam ships as they do, just in different fleet composition (against Ligh Frigates spam long range, against corvettes spam light frigates, and so on). Or if you really hate this, play again

Even if he isn't trolling this topic, he hardly ever plays multiplayer, which means his understanding of the deeper strategies of the game is rather limited. You cannot select combat ships, civilian ships or strike craft at the same time. You need to select the protev after you select combat units, hold down shift and select the protev if you want it to have it in selection with your cobalts. This feature prevents you from accidentally sending starbase constructors and colony frigates into battle when you select numerous ships at once (if you have ogrovs or starfish you may see something similar if you forget having them, they go where you

WUT Seriously, that is the biggest problem if you don't leave the game if you only have a few planets left, and a couple of ships, only the very best players can do something about it (forgive me as I am unfamiliar with the current rankings to know who are the best nowadays). Not everyone finds it fun to roam the map hopelessly with his small task force and trying to build up one or two planets somewhere if his team is suffering at all fronts (fun level is lower than starting a ne
Hey, thanks for the response. I've found starbases to be pretty effective, but often the AI doesn't cooperate by suiciding their fleet into my defenses. In a few games I've played recently they just hang back on their planets. I control far more territory, but it's very difficult to launch an attack because they've amassed a huge force in their own gravity wells. I'm finding it very tough to break through in these situations

Step 1. build starbases on chokepoints as fast as you can, you will see the benefits. Step 2. profit from the stupidity of the AI and laugh as he sacrifices whole fleets on your defenses. Step 3: defend starbase from anti-structure cruisers, after some time the AI realises those are good against starbases and starts to build them in big numbers. Step 4: build your own fleet and go hunting, preferably after the last major defeat of you opponent at the hands of your star
