That's what I thought I HAD... perhaps not. I'll try to uninstall everything and start over.

I decided to start running Dreams again (Vista Ultimate user) and now I'm getting nag screens to BUY Deskscapes, which I shouldn't have to. When I close the screen, it should run the Dream anyway....nope....it just sits there. What is going on here??? I'm also getting Deskscape error messages "Dream not allowed". WHAT??? Could someone throw me a clue here why suddenly now Dreamscapes is so whacked out??

I was trying out Tweak Vista (seeing that is came as a "trial", i thought it was appropriate). I decided to give the "Agressive" Internet setting a try (seeing that I have a very fast and powerful machine as it indicated). Well....my internet access slowed down to roadkill speed. Forget THAT setting. So I put it back to Default, then reopened the browser. NADA....STILL ROADKILL SPEED. I logged out and then back in. Nothing. I rebooted. STILL NOTHING. Internet is sloooooooowwwwwww. Could some
This may have been addressed before, but I don't see very many 64-bit icons/collections (256x256) being made for Vista. Seen a few "cutsie" collections, but nothing real inspiring like some of the 32-bit collections I've seen. Lack of interest? Is it that Icon Packager doesn't work with 64-bit Vista? What? When? Am I just looking in the wrong place?Enquiring minds want to know....
Has anyone run into problems with Dreamscenes using the new Nvidia beta driver (163.44)?
...but he really does have some nice vid-loops. I wouldn't know about that. All I see are thumbnails. IMHO it would be foolish to spend money on that without being able to view the animation first.
Stardock Central updates fine with all other utilities, but the Dreams for Deskscape update keeps failing because of Account Information Invalid. What's up with that?? I just purchased Object Desktop about a month ago or so.
They're Alex's tips, I'm just relaying them. Then I thereby retract my direct thanks to Frogboy and redirect the afore-mentioned direct thanks to Alex at Microsoft and therewith convey a distinctly separate set of thanks to Frogboy for his relaying Alex's tips. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 align=
Nice tips, Frogboy! Thanks!
I'm looking on the bright side.....Gives me the time to save up for a more decent graphics card.
My understanding is the current Dreamscene has basically the same performance features that the final version has. The point of the prerelease is to get feedback about incompatibility problems with video drivers & video codecs. Seems to be working real fine with the latest ATI Catalyst drivers.
Just be mindful that with those alternative programs, your CPU usage may increase. That's the primary difference between the ability to play vids as wallpapers and Dreamscenes...Dreamscenes (the soon-to-be-released full version anyway) will have GPU optimization to take almost all the work off the CPU and put it on the graphics card.
I know you don't wanna hear it, but people all over are having issues with 64-bit Vista. Frankly, 64-bit's persnickety behavior when it comes to unsigned drivers is the main reason I stuck with the 32-bit version. Microsoft: Call me when you get it all worked out.
Perhaps we need to reinterate (as some folks tried to do above). The Dreamscene version that everyone is using right now does NOT have the GPU optimization feature that the final version from Microsoft will have. People are going to experience some high CPU usages in the time being (depending on the Dream/vid). Be patient please. #2...the Dreamscape version that Stardock recently released to Object Desktop users has two dynamic dreams with it....the first noticable thing about them is that
I'll be coming out with some decent high-end Dreams just as soon as those idiots out at Los Alamos Labs give me access to the Cray super computer they have there. I was told I have to wait until it stops crunching some kind of data having to do with the origin of the universe....
Hmmmmmm....now if someone came up with a Dreamscene called "Boobies" I actually might be interested. But with my luck, they would put in the Vista logo(s) in strategic areas just to make it discreet....
For those having issues with https://www.wincustomize.com/upload.aspx please try https://www.wincustomize.com/upload2.aspx we will be moving to upload2.aspx (and getting rid of https://www.wincustomize.com/upload.aspx ) once the kinks are
OK....got real excited about this, but when I try to download the Dreams (after downloading the Dreamscape beta), the fastest speed I got was around 28KBs on broadband....doesn't exactly fill me full of confidence in Stardock's servers. The first download just flat out failed...trying again...same speed. Edit: 10 minutes to download 80% of a 32 mb file....please don't tell me this is a portent of thing
Right-click on the icon to get the Performance Settings menu?
I have only one complaint: Why did you announce this AFTER I went to bed last night?? Now I'm at work and can't load it up to see what all the hubbub is about!
I wonder when MS will release the final ver of Dreamscene. Hopefully they will be able to cut down even more on resource use, etc. Well...if they act like they did with Halo 2 for the PC, we oughta be seeing the final version of Dreamscene in....oh....around June of 2009. I used my trusty sliderule and came out with the following: Raindrops: 3 Fore
Try as I may, I cannot locate all the Vista Logon Studio files that I've downloaded (except for the default ones under the LogonStudio Vista folder). Where are they located??
I rated all four with 5 stars, however I deducted 2.3 stars for Dreams two and four respectively for not looking so great beside my other Dreams in their still format under the Desktop Backgrounds menu (color clashing) and deducted 1.23 stars for three and one (in that order) for downloading so slow as a whole (or group). That, and taking into consideration the 55% CPU usage (average) that Dreams one, three and two are taking, I added in a factor of 1.2 stars, with a penalty deduction for Dream
