First, there's the feasibility of landing troops on the planet. Compared to the cost of building a space fleet, planetary defenses (railguns, missiles, etc.) are pretty cheap. Landing troops on a well defended planet would be very difficult, and if something happens to your fleet in orbit, then any troops on the surface are screwed. However, this is not an issue if you have teleportation technology. Also, even with a modern military, occupying a country or even a cit

I'm new to modding as well, and it looks like these will be really helpful sites. Thanks for posting!
[quote who="Splitshadow" reply="11" id="2608766"]I really liked the music in Sonic Adventure Battle 2. Apparently I'm a lucky one too. I've had my Vista for over four months now, and it's been great. The only problem I had was when an update didn't install properly and it kept crashing, but in less than an hour I was able to roll it back to the previous update status. But that was a one-in-a-million glitch. Other than that, I couldn't possibly be happier with it. ...Unless it came with free coffee or something.
My favorite RPG of all time would probably be Baiten Kaitos. It had an amazing story as well as an incredibly addicting battle system.
You also forgot that when you play with all the settings on fastest (but game speed not sped up,) It takes about 40 seconds to a minute to make massive infrastructural changes to every main city on a planet, which is about the same amount of time it takes to blow up a medium sized crusier by repeatedly shooting it with missiles. Assuming modern weaponry, that should take maybe and hour tops. So either their politics/society is REALLY advanced and weapons technology has not k

Since each game of Sins involves you starting your empire with one planet and conquer the whole galaxy over and over, each game is sort of a small campaign in itself. If they do make a campaign, it would have to be radically different from the current skirmish-style mode, probably involving smaller star systems, starting with more planets, and most importantly scripts and triggers!
Chuck Norris can kill a swarm of volitile nanites with a 12 gauge shotgun and a squadron of bombers with a bottle of hairspray and cigarette lighter. No, wait, that’s MacGuyver. Chuck Norris can do both with his bare hands. Chuck Norris is not chasing the Vasari; something else was, but he killed it 9,999 years and 11 months ago; he just destroys the Vasari signal beacons for sport. Chuck Norris’s abilities cost negative antimatter; using
Wow, so much good stuff (and so fast). Thanks for all the help guys!
So I have a couple of ideas to improve imple the game, and I'm starting to consider making a mod to implement them. However, my laptop is new and has no graphics design or software editing programs more advanced than notepad. Also, I don't have a program that can open .rar files, so I can't download ForgeTools. The problem is that while I want to make these mods, I don't think that it's worthwhile to spend large sums of money to design a mod that may not even work.&n
My favorite band? Why, this, of course:
Well, the title is pretty self-explanatory. I looked on the forums and found guides to texturing (which programs to use, how to use them, etc.), so I can figure out how to change the look of ships. But I've never been good at drawing and I want to know if that will hinder my attempt to texture the ships.
So I know a bunch of people, including myself, posted that their planets were "see-through," that is that their planets did not look like solid objects but rather transparent balls of light. The original thread is here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/315009 Long story short, the problem was attributed to sub-spec graphics cards. However, one person came up with a possible work-around that I could not figure out. My solution: make a simple mod that changes
I have this problem too, but only for terran, desert, ice, and volcanic planets. Asteroids and stars are perfectly life-like. Also, I play with ship and structure detail on high with no problem (other than it taking longer to load a game.) Granted, my graphics card is sub-spec, but I have a friend who plays this game on a card only slightly better than mine, and he doesn't have this problem at all.
