I have to echo what Centurion says about taking your lumps. I played my first public 4 or 5 online matches yesterday after practicing with my buddy and we got whopped on pretty bad, lol. Instead of qqing about it, we just watched the replays and discussed what people were doing. It was a good ole time and I learned a lot of tricks. Especially in the replay with JohnJames when we were double teaming him and he still managed to win :/ (with an ally feeding)

A buddy of mine and I logged on yesterday and played like 4 or 5 multiplayer games back to back with little or no waiting. We played a 5v5 (which unfortunately crashed) and 3 or 4 2v2s. It never took more than 10 minutes to find/setup a game. Even the 5v5 was relatively smooth being setup.

You mention something that I am kind of trying to deal with. If you are fighting the other player (lets assume 1 v 1 in a small sized map) and you are harrassing him within 15-20 minutes, then you must be forgoing taking all available planets right? And that is kind of my question. I feel like I should grow to a certain level before taking the risk of sending my fleet over to the other player. I suppose that good players can probably accomplish both at the same time.&n

I read some of the strategies in the sticky right after posting this and it seems that I am setting myself up to be chastized about my newb skills. I am kind of attached to playing a balanced game, but it seems like most multiplayer strategies are around rushing, which is inevitable I suppose as most RTSs come down to this.

I am pretty new to this game, but I am getting a hang of it slowly. I have a question about how long it takes people who are playing Multiplayer Vs matches to get up and running? I have been developing some build up strategies and I have a couple of them now, although they all seem to produce similar results. Anyways, what I mean by up and running is that you have the first fleet logistics upgrade and you have it filled with ships and you are ready to start harassing your

I have seen people in the forums mention to only build Vasari fighters instead of bombers. I checked out a unit sheet in that sticky thread and from the comparisons, the only *disadvantage* between the two is that there are 3 bombers in a squad as opposed to 4 for fighters. All other statistics on that sheet are superior for the bomber. The damage types are the same, so I guess that question is, why fighters over bombers? Is there a stat in that sheet that is not being

Oh, I thought this sheet was entrenchment. Why the ef is there a stickied sheet on this page that doesn't have current data! Argh And strike craft are better end game than upgraded heavy cruisers?

I'm a newb at this game, what the heck is an Ogrov or an Adjucator? I am looking at the ship comparison sheet and I don't see these ships. What I do know is yesterday I was playing with a friend and his TEC upgraded SB destroyed my upgraded fleet of 2 caps and 28 enforcers and 10 sentinals.

Yeah that makes sense. I guess I need to crank up the difficulty to know what you are talking about. On Normal I manage to run around with like 2 or 3 cap ships and 30ish ships and that has never lost me a battle. Most of the time it is less. I'm also super bad at micromanaging battles. I get nervous when I have been watching ships attack because I am not tending my construction/research enough.

As I said in another post, I just bought this game last week and I have been trying to get my head around all of the strategies. A friend of mine bought it also and we have been discussing our recent single player experiences. He has been creating a lot of Cap Ship only fleets and using those. While I have been using my cap ships more as like the hero guys in Warcraft III, like a special unit that augments a fleet of normal ships. I have also been reading some of those

Yeah I poked around this site a bit before but they don't have any entrenchment stuff. That is unfortunate, but I guess this will do for now. I'm still a little unclear as to what was added in entrenchment as I didn't play vanilla sins. I do know the entire fortification/defense tree was added, but besides that I have no clue.

I just got this game last week along with the expansion pack Entrenchment. I must say that it is a really cool game and I'm glad that I bought it. That being said... I have been trying to get a good handle on the tactics for each race and I want to pick one to stick with for awhile; however, this task is pretty hard because I tend to forget a lot of the stuff by the time I start another game with another race. Is there some site out there that has all of the units/te
