I'd like to add the request please that phasing ships show at the bottom rather than the top, or even make that optional (ie a pin). Currently phasing ships show as by default at the top. By appearing at the top, it moves the rest down by one. When you have several fleets going in and out of phasespace it means the whole empire tree is moving around all the time, making impossible to use sometimes. Obviously as the action heats up ships move around more and more so this makes the UI most frus

Maybe I'm missin something - I'm playing the huge 3 vs 3 map and I've defeated the other team. So the icon for those shows that they're history. But I've also completely eliminated the guys who were initially on my side. They have no planets, asteroids or bases on gas giants. But they won't show as dead :(
Aha! Got it! I was using the capital ship for all my captures which doesn't have that ability Thanks!
Hello Time for newbie question of the day - how do I capture those? Thanks!
Hehehe, ok this explains it. I have a maxed weapon and civil temple things, but exactly zero communion temples. No wonder those deliverance things I placed didn't do anything rofl :)
Thanks TheRezonator, appreciated :) You've really spelled out what I'm thinking - lose the clutter and just show the stuff that matters.I'll have a play with the pin stuff, I'm just being dim I suspect. That phase thing drives me nuts btw - it's not really that useful for me. It'd be so great if it was optional, at the
Hello, I wonder if I'm missing a trick or two because I'm finding that managing my units and structures using that explorer-type interface down the left is less than ideal - maybe I'm just doing it badly?? For example, to move a whole fleet, I'll typically scroll up to the top and try and highlight it using the gold shield icon... but the focus always moves away ie if there's action elsewhere on the map. This drives me mad and I find myself fighting the UI as much as fighting the AI :
Hello, I'm very much a beginner, up against the AI*5 in the big huge map in the base SoASE vanilla version. I've come to a situation where I'm 1st in terms of armies & income (largely by flooding asteroids with tradeports), but I'm only second in metal and crystal extraction, and only 3rd in culture eventhough I hold most planets. Am I right in thinking that to solve this, I should look at changing some of the tradeports to extractor mine thingies, and toadd
I use pause break. When I hit it, the screen says Paused towards the top of the screen. From there, you can do anything, you just won't see what changed until after you hit the pause break button again, and on the screen is says unpaused.
Brilliant, exactly what I was after. Thanks :)
Hmmm, dumb question I bet, but I can't seem to find a "pause" button that allows me to pause the game to reorganise fleets etc. What am I missing? Thx :)
ahhh, thx
I used to be a game developer - Just an idle thought, a sun-focused expansion pack _should_ be dead easy to do. You already have the "planet development" programming inside the base game, add in the "defence" programming from Entrenchment, create some new structures & skills and boom!, new pack, easy gain...
Ahhhh... the lightbulb is switching on now - thanks for the replies, it's always nice to realise that there's even more depth to get familiar with :) Fascination that exploding ships damage others nearby, it struck me today that I'd never seen 2 ships collide which seemed a bit weird albeit understandable from a gameplay PoV.
Hello, Quick beginner question - to what extent is it possible to stack bonuses? I've just played my first game without a clue what I'm doing so I thought I'd reread the handbook. I played as advent and it struck me that certain combinations might be hugely effective. ie I'm about to fight the mother of all battles against a the main TEC fleet which includes 4 capships, so would stacking my capships like this combo have the effect that I hope it had? :) revelation (guida
