ead the board. Pretty much everyone has the problem. On an AMD Phenom 9500 it was pretty much unplayable. I'd say the minimum requirement for this game is an Intel Core i7 975 or 9xx processor overclocked to similar speed. I just don't understand how many people buy entrenchment even when they know it's that slow?!? Personally, if they won't fix it (the game can only use one CPU although being advertised as multicore) I guess I'll return it and get my money back - asid

About the speed issue: With a Phenom 9500 (4x2.2 GHz) the game was pretty much unplayable slow, even 1x speed didn't work properly. With an Intel Core i7 975 (4x3.3 GHz) the game is doing much better although I still wish for more performance (probably a simple OC would do it) as on larger maps, later into the game, I sometimes need to switch back to 1x speed. A cheap solution probably would be an Intel 920 processor with massive OC (they seem to be good at that). Scre

Do you get Sins to use 64% CPU or 64% CPU load at all? 50% for sins would equal a 100% CPU load on your dual core. I do get 12-13% CPU load on my 975 and that means it's 100% CPU load on a single core. Opening the task manager, it's also easy to see. Sins only does use one core at constant maximum load, even when the game is paused! That's also what tech support says. They use one thread for loading textures, one thread for loading sounds and one thread for everything else. The very b

You should know that the game is also very slow on an Intel Core i7 975 processor, although much better than on my old Phenom 9500 (which really was unplayable slow). The biggest problem is, that even with multicore CPUs you cannot use that CPU feature although the game is advertised as multicore. The game simply does use one single thread for most of what happens in the game...and thus any modern multicore CPU simply is almost idle but has one core maxed out - and Sins slow as hell.

Get a faster processor - or somehow convince the developers to implement multicore usage. Sadly, it's only using a single core, thus the specs told at the games box won't give any real idea about what is necessary. With a core i7 975 it's sometimes possible to switch to x2 speed later into the game on medium sized maps, just to give you an idea of real minimum requirements. Screet

Changing the language is very easy: 1) uninstall Sins completely (may require manual cleanup for some installations) 2) use impulse to reinstall the software via internet which then will allow to select any of the available languages Installation from the internet is much faster than from DVD (unless you've got a slow connection). Yes, if you reduce graphics, you do massively reduce the RAM amount which is being used. Setting all to lowest will result in Sins dropping down to about 650Megs...and it even does work for games currently running! I've never seen that game to use more than 1.4x Gig though, which is within the 32bit limit. Screet

Even with a 64bit OS a 32bit App could not pass the old 32bit RAM limit. That one typically happens at a little over 1.4 GiB of RAM usage (for a single App, thus the total RAM usage would be around 2 GiB). However, with everything on Max, I can barely push Sins to the 1.4 GiB limit and as you might guess, I've never ever had Sins crash. Something that might be related to limited RAM - I'm not sure about that - might be that effects stop too early later in the game. I need to m
