please if your gonna claim something as far fetched as all women having more psionic powers then all men. please for the sake of everyone here back it up. Dont just start making things up and expecting people to accept it. If you start doing that then everyone coming in here to get an idea about the lore will have their image of the Advent, TEC, and Vasari tainted by misinformed posts. There is nothing in the lore that states men arent as powerful as women. It just states "Females in
Allegiance86
Well as much as I want to think women are the primary bredwinners in the Advent society. It does say the "silent ones" are rare. Which would mean that everyone accept the few born without the ability have psionic talents. Just varies amoung individuals as how skilled they are. Usually, women being the prodominate sex in this culture and making up the majority of the hierarchy. But at the same time, we cant presume men dont have these abilities or that a good number of them are high up on the
well honestly i thought that instead of focusing on Earth id focus on how things spiraled into the Great Wars of Antiquity. Or as i call them the 2 Great Phase Wars. But as far as Earth goes, it just lost its influence, it was still there and was still apart of the warring factions. probably should have included that but with so much in my head and trying to put it down to make sense i kindof shot around that fact. for all we know Earth is very well apart of the Trade Orde
Or maybe long ago the People of Earth expanded out into space shortly after discovering phase space technology. Because of the great distances between these star systems. The original countries of Earth that controlled these colonies lost their control maybe 30-50 years after their initial settlements were established. Eventually Earth fell to a single government. And of course the notion that planets held many nations of many cultures fell to the wayside. At first these planets would h
Well I was talking about how some of the summaries mention the thought process's of the factions that those ships belong to.
will do, hmm wish there were more people posting here, it be alot easier to bring up more ideas...
http://issuu.com/pparas/docs/sins_of_a_solar_empire_manual This is the online manual (the original, seems Stardock and IC stopped printing the 70 someodd manual that came with the first editions of the game) the manual I know have with the disk is actually about 20 pages less and doesnt include the stats of the ships. But this should help if you want to copy and paste the summaries about the ships.
I think what C.I has is a good foundation to a beginning history for the TO but it definitely needs to be more defined in certian areas to better fit what we already know about the TEC. As well heres an online copy of the SoaSE manual: http://issuu.com/pparas/docs/sins_of_a_solar_empire_manual Also as I mentioned in the Advent Thread, We should post the lore established already in the manuals about
I understand its a daunting request. So I only ask cause I dont feel its my place to touch your work. If I read correctly of what we all wrote when talking about that subject there was just three issues. 1. Mention of Earth. Just doesnt fit. 2. Kron, the explaination needs to be made to look like its the Vasari calling to their religion to explain how they came to be on the run. 3. Just want the story to reflect more of the Vasari perception. As if this is straight out
Well maybe I was thinking you could rescript the Religious bit you introduced to better fit the Lore were pulling together here. Just drop the points we have brought up in prior posts. (not asking for it to change in your story just here for the sake of our discussions) Just asking cause Id like to put it up with the OP just need it to be alittle bit more bullet proof so it isnt so easily shot down. As well its not my place to rearrange something that you put together yourself.
I think what needs to be added to the write up is all the Lore written into the Ships aswell. I noticed theres alot thats hinted about the structuring of the different factions. (this is out off topic but........it just shows alot of lore is hidden in someof the most obvious places...........................the TEC had Capital Ships, atleast this is my perception of how its written, But they were predecessors to the SOVA) Anyway my point is, the more we can pull from the better our lore will
Actually it sounds alot like the SupCom game. Alien race gives a select group of humans Advanced knowledge and a religious base and suddenly you have a faction much like the Advent.
Im pretty sure this has been covered but the dropramp is where the fighters/bombers deploy from. But my confusion is with the Dunov........I have yet to locate the Launching bays of the Dunov............
same goes for StarBases. You normally dont see them early on mostly midgame. Unless your dealing with a Starbase rush. And thats what AntiStructure Cruisers were actually brought in to combat. Ive never had to use them. Even when a Starbase is thrown into a minor gravity well i control. With only 4 Bomber Squadrons and 4 Fighter Squadrons they still take down a Starbase with ease. Even a semi upgraded Starbase doesnt last long. The only one I havent gone up against is one with 20k hull, Mostl
Ok, so I know we havent established how the Government works yet. But Ive got this idea in my head about a Intelligence Agency for the TEC. My opinion is, that with 1,000 years of realitive peace. The TO had no real need for intelligence. So whatever they did have to give the TO a heads up would be almost useless. But their would be a way to gather intel on the Vasari movements and tactics. The Terrans have Broadcast Centers....Which I would think are like Giant TV netwo
I dont think they TEC would allow the individual worlds to just fend for themselves. If they did, The Vasari would easily get the upper hand by crushing these systems that refused to be defended and and the Vasari would get Footholds inbetween the TEC worlds that actually do want to fight. This would give the Vasari the upperhand in the fight as theyll be able to cut the TEC lines in half, basically divide and conquer. Im sure the TEC would rather just crush the worlds that refuse to aid in t
When I said campaign...........i was talking about having to use one in the second game to solve the issue of this blast. Like I said before, weve tried to stay clear of this and no the OP didnt have much to say about what was chasing them. I should know I wrote it. what it talked about was what COULDNT be chasing them. Blast sounds cool, and if the Devs felt thats what it was thats fine its the Devs game and they have the right to add what they want. But I think the Vasari arent madmen
Basically this would be a MultiSystem Marshal Law. Any planets (even if they are facing destruction some will still oppose violence) that oppose military taking control or action against the Vasari would probably be crushed by the surrounding planets defensive forces.
Is this some hidden lore off of the game or something you made up? If its made up, great work, just got an issue with the Trade Order existing. They came sometime after the Humans on This planet (dont remember it being named) began practicing this "perversion". As said in the summary of the TEC and Advent that the TO came about after the great wars of antiquity and that these people are some kindof descendants of those people.
Yeah, it seems i have 5 pages now to run through and pretty much shovel all the agreed upon knowledge that we have gathered...........great for me....i think ill start on that tomorrow. its alittle late for that now. As for rubicantx comment. For the most part weve tried to stay off the topic of whats chasing the Vasari. As we really dont know what the Devs have planned for that. The intro really didnt say much of what it truely was. And assuming what it was might come back an
why not be able to sell the structures in orbit and the ships over taken for a discounted price. Just add to the gameplay. I think troops are an essential part of the fleet makeup. You need boots on the ground to truely control any landmass.
im sorry moose if your gonna try to make a point please make a point about the topic not my spelling if you want to lecture proper spelling take it to a forum about English and how to spell correctly. And no im not mistaken about what a theory is and how it is applied to science. TOO many of you wanna be scientists think a theory which means AN IDEA means its A FACT. which it isnt. and since its only AN IDEA it means its not THE TRUTH. Honestly I dont care if its evolution or God if h
if it is a crown then im heavily mistaken. but even in the avatars in the game each pic of a Vasari change dramatically enough to imply that maybe there are different racial factors within the Vasari that dont change skin color but maybe structural or facial features that are very distinct much more then just a nose or mouth and eyes and ears.
thats not my point. my point is we dont even really need a antistructure vessel. Ive done it every game since buying entrenchment. The idea is. If the devs are gonna create something that really isnt needed because other alternatives can take care of it then theres no real big issue over creating another unit that concentrates on something in particular.
ive never had a use for antistructure vessels because im quiet reliant on bombers/fighters because they do more then one thing for me. Targeting structures and vessels alike. But my point of view prior to knowing what flak and scouts could do together my concept was it was needed. Now its turning into well if the devs are gonna waste their time creating a vessel for the simple purpose of destroying only structures..........why not mines. Obviously the reasoning behind the antistructure was to
