I just assumed that the Retelling of a retelling would have been too much and so they just made it seem like until they were able to save themselves theyd be stuck in the loop. So its assumed that Scotts last message about what to look for and what to expect forced them to rally faster then the last time. The ACUs teleport to the Covenant Homeworld but before the Covenant can counter the flood (not giving a shit whos who) attacks taking over Covenant, once the Covenant fight off the Flood, they rebel against the "new" Brutes taking over replacing the Elites, By the time this infighting is resolved. The ACU has amassed an Army and overran the entire planet. (Great thing about SupCom, no infighting amoung the army) The Covenant have lost horribly.

The thing is, the current issues being brought up, are centered on MP. In SP you dont see these issues as the AI isnt going to rush you 10 minutes into the game with Scouts. The AI doesnt utilize scouts outside of what they are intended for. But like usual you give a human a video game and he will find a way to exploit it. your wrong, a weapon doesnt constitute an offensive ability. The reason the Scouts are so useful is their stats, they have a strong hull and shields because they were meant to aid it when it ran through enemy and neutral GWs. The Pros exploited this fact. RA starting it all. Both Scouts and Colony frigs were outfitted with weapons for the sake of defending themselves. Not for outright warfare.

scouts are only given firepower to defend themselves. Their named scouts because they perform a key job its called recon. The recon team isnt supposed to outright engage the enemy. they sometimes are in a key position to perform a SpecOps type mission. Example: TEC Scout....it can set charges to structures for a terrorist style attack which if this was reality would halt that structures ability to produce whatever it was meant for.
