I recently purchased Entrenchment and Diplomacy. I’ve been playing Distant Stars + Alliance: Hidden Agendas for awhile now, and I want to make a mod that gives the TEC a cap ship that looks like the Advent Carrier Cap. However, every one of my attempts crashes. I think I’m not modifying a file somewhere. Which files do I need to modify to add a capital ship?

My brother, who helps with my moding efforts, but dosen't have an acount on the forum, wanted me to ask this question for him. I’m trying to integrate the diplomacy frigate into the original, vanilla Sins. Right now all I’m using is the Geneva class cruiser. The mod successfully loads, but when I go to build it, the ship builds to within a few seconds of being finished, then minidumps. The problem is obviously in the mesh. I’ve used meshes from en

I'm continuing to work on a mod-pack for Sins vanilla, and I come up against a kind of weird problem. I finally figured out how to create a planet, and I'm putting the finishing touches on my first truly unique planet type- an abandoned TEC starbase based on the Entrenchment starbase. However, since I don't have entrenchment, I can't seem to find the textures to put with the mesh. Can someone please point me to somewhere I can download the texture fi

Well, I've tried for two days, using every method I know of, and I still can't find the entity.manifest file anywhere, and my mod depends on three new .entity files (PlanetTime.entity , AbilityTimeLock.entity, and BuffTimeLock.entity). I'm assuming it's a very well-hidden file. </

[quote who="harpo99999" reply="8" id="2566965"]have you edited your user.settings file to enable the debugs from near the bottom of the user.settings file LogOutput TRUE ShowErrors TRUE if they are false you just get dumped without the clues as to what happened, when the ShowErrors is true sins stops and puts error window up telling you exactly where in which file the error is and what sins is looking for with the LogOutput true it places all t

Ok, I did that, and everything seemed to be working fine. However, it mini-dumped whenever I went to enable the mod. I think I did something strange again. So far, the files I have modified/created are: PlanetTime.entity AbilityTimeLock.entity BuffTimeLock.entity GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef Are there any other files I am supposed to modify?

Thanks, guys! I tried a quick change, by swapping out my refrence data for the the refrence data from C:/program files/ Stardock Games/ Sins of a Solar Empire/ . It worked perfectly and didn't mini-dump. However, when I tried to preview my planet in the Map Designer, I couldn't get it to appear. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong there?

Yea, I thought it would be a good idea. They probably wouldn't be as powerful as bombers, as they would need bigger engines (and more fuel) to get them back out of the atmosphere, once they got in. Possibly they would also affect enemy culture? After all, an enemy bomber screaming overhead is going to scare the tar out of the enemy population.

I agree, we should get ground-to-space weapons. I mean, any modern US navy missile cruiser is equipped with ant-satellite missiles. How could the much-more advanced races of SOSE not be able to do the same thing? Actually, I think this option would make siege frigs much more important, because it would make it necessary to kill a planet quite quickly, before they did unnecessary damage to your fleet. It would, however, make us

I'm not too good at SOSE, so I may be making a major mistake about how tactically solid this combo is, but my favorite combination is the Kortul Devastator and the Jarrasul Evacuator. The Kortul acts as a large sledgehammer, battering through the enemy fleet. The Jarrasul uses it's Gravity Bomb to keep major parts of the enemy fleet from retreating, thereby ensuring that my enemy leaves the engagement hurting, hopefully quite badly. While he's t
