When I wrote a short story about this game (actually, technically three sort stories) I addressed this question. My concept of it was large (larger than the starbases, large enough to, when burrowing underground, show up from space when viewing the surface of a planet) dreadnaught-type warships with massively powerful and retractable deck guns (one-shot kills on Kol Battleships) and cloud-shield-coverings of an acidic base (maybe nanites? I never offered an explanation) capable of disso

Radiance is purpose designed to kill other capital ships, unlike its two counterpart battleships, and a mid/high level Radiance can crush an equal level Evacuator because it has that little ability to stop enemy abilities, so unless said Evacuator can keep the Radiance down with Gravity Warhead, its toast. Whereas, the Kortul is surprisingly capable as a one on one capital fighter for its massive firepower. A mid level Kortul can crush an Evacuator of equal level, because of its highl

1. Great. 2. Great 3. Well, in the Dunov example, I meant equalize the laser damage in line with the increase in missile/autocannon damage, not make it's lasers fire forward. I don't plan on even touching mesh or model files, way out of my realm of understanding. And, good, I was wondering if I could make the pesky Dunovs and Motherships fire in a more optimal firing set-up. Basically, the goal is for the chosen capital ships to fire forward, i.e. fore section facing the enemy

Well, as the title suggests, I've never modded before, but I would like to do some light mod work to rebalance the game for fun. So, I have a few questions before I start: 1. Can you change a ship's abilities to be another ship's abilities without changing the second ship's abilities? My current idea is, because I am a strident Advent player and because I'd like to do some testing, to replace the Radiance Battleship's Detonate Antimatter and Anomosity with Meteor Strike and Mass

I discounted the Revelation on offhandedness. I don't use it often, and I was looking more at its pitiful damage output for a Dreadnaught ship. Although, I didn't realize how little antimatter Reverie utilized for its effectiveness, even though its other three abilities are utterly useless in one on one ship combat. I suppose, if its fighting a ship without effective anti-ability utility, it would be able to hold its own. As for the Egg, I freely admit, it is an extremely effective as

I think level 6 is the lowest level you can honestly do a capital ship versus capital ship test, maybe 5. At six they should have all four abilities, albeit at relatively low levels. And then it becomes more clear which capital ship is more capable against its chosen peer enemy. Of course, there are capital ships just not cut out for one on one combat (Rapture, Dunov, Antorak, Mothership, Akkan, and Revelation.), and then...the "Egg." I hate using the Evacuator, hate it, hate it, hate

The Kol would lose to the Marza cause of its glaring flaw of no anti-antimatter abilities, and it would run out of antimatter after so long of constant Gauss Rail Guns and Adaptive Forcefields. The Marza would kill the Kol before it ran out of antimatter, with Radiation Bomb, Passive, and Missile Barrage, which is still fairly usefull since the Kol has no method of stopping it. And [quote who="Altaux" reply="34" id="2430869"]Firstly the kortul lvl 10 vs lvl 10 one on one will

The Marza, though I resepct it as making up for the Kol's comparitive weakness as a battleship, would be crushed by the Radiance and Kortul. With Radiance, two words - Detonate Antimatter. No abilities but its passive, and the Marza is outdamaged by the combination of the Radiance's Cleansing Brilliance and powerful main weapons. Marza also lacks any antimatter restoration abilities and no ability jamming abilities. Nor does it have an anti-strike craft capacity, so the Radiance's strike craf

I think for the sake of fairness, the fight should be set in a gas giant gravity well, meaning no interference from planetary effects, and assume for argument's sake there is no culture bonus. As for Kortul versus Radiance, I agree, if the Radiance can keep Power Surge under wraps, it will prevail, but as soon as the Kortul is able to use Power Surge the Radiance will fall. However, I still think the Radiance's strike craft would help immensely (for purposes of argument, all of the ba

I was intrigued by a discussion on another topic about who would win: Kortul v. Kol, 1v1. But the Radiance was barely mentioned and there was never a final conclusion. This isn't asking which is best, per say (none of them is "best") but rather, which would win 1v1 versus each of its two peers. After a very long time, I now have the complete stats and a basic evaluation of each level 10 battleship with every tech researched. No artifacts included. Credit to the stats for the Kol and Kortul go

You were right, I didn't get every texture. Thanks a bunch, fixed both problems. Beautiful effects, great job. Love the missiles and new planet bombing look, but I have a recommendation for your Last Stand mod and another version of this, if it's coming, that you make the beam weapons more impressive. I was dissapointed when my level 10 Radiance owned everything with the plasma and laser guns, but its beams were all...."meh, not scary...". Great job otherwise though.

I'm running Entrenchment 1.41, and I'm fairly sure I installed it correctly, because the game did change particle effects. But two glaring issues instantly hit me. Firstly, whenever a structure or ship was damaged, instead of the smoke or fire or debris, it put out these white boxes. Whenever a ship would explode, a huge white box covers the whole explosion. Its still rendering the debris, fire, and smoke, and the explosions, but its all covered by these little cartoony boxes. Secondly, when

I played Advent, and did a straight off Radiance rush. Plus light frigates, and buying the Radaince's first two levels, and i killed his capital ship. Researched Purge frigates and various starter weapons tech, killed his factories, and smoked his home planet. Then I killed the astroid he colonized, before he could make another capital ship. Note, if you kill his capital ship but not the factory, he will make another. Conversely, not killing his factory will leave you with a cloud of light fr
