It's easy to make a particle effect for; hard to implement. It would require an ability on every single ship that triggers on death...
Hmmm I didn't know it would require an actual ability for it to work. I hoped it would be similar to how an explosion particle effect is triggered. Anyway, thanks a lot for telling me. It seems to be more work than I figured it would be.

It is certainly doubtfull if we will ever see one of those in game, but I think this is actually a great idea. [e digicons][/e] The only limitation I see is the fact that Advent players don't own any missile-launching ships. So versus an Advent player a corvette like that won't be of much use, unless it also has a secondary ability.

New Particle Effect: Escape Pods I just thought it would be nice to see a few escape pods appear right in the middle of an explosion when ships and structures (and of course starbases) are being destroyed. It would make watching battles even more rewarding. I think it would be as simple as adding a particle effect, maybe similar to the ones

I think this would make a complex game overly complex if implemented. I do think it is a funny idea, but I honestly think it wouldn't add much value to the overall Sins gameplay experience. But you never know, maybe a modder thinks this idea is really cool (or you could make a mod yourself if you understand how to) and he will implement something like it. And RiddleKing... Stop it with the trolling man come on. It is not nice to treat people that are new to the f

As far as I understood, having trinity is not a requirement for playing the beta of Rebellion. I thought you would get instant access to the beta after pre-ordering Rebellion, once it becomes available. I myself have vanilla sins and bought both expansions seperately when they were released. I did pre-order Rebellion and I did receive my $10 discount.

At times, RiddleKings rather unusual sense of humor can be quite entertaining.

Spring 2012 is the release date for the full and tested expansion. The beta will be accessible before this period. The people that pre-ordered the game will receive an e-mail telling them that the beta is available for download in the new Stardock Store. Impulse (now called the GameStop client) is not related to Sins Rebellion.

Why waste time thinking about boarding if one can just autoattack and kill... Besides, the game already has enough micromanagement required in battles. Ugh one of these again... Look pal, this is not gonna happen. It would take a whole new lot of complex coding to put something like this into the game and also a lot of time that the dev's have to spend on other stuff that needs to be done. Besides, the Iron engine is already loaded with other stuff especially now that they are going to expand on the original game. They intend to make the game run smoother than ever, instead of adding too many new features that would only

I personally think the way trade income works is just fine. Only at a point where one owns a real lot of planets you may start earning a lot of cash, but at that point the game is more or less decided anyway.

Wow there are actually some good screenshots included. I recommend checking out image 1, 4, 5 and 6. Where the hell did you get these? [e digicons]o_O[/e] What I figured out about these screenshots: On image 1 you can see what is known as the Cherubim from the concept art we have seen before. It looks a lot different on that screenshot though (I likeed the concept art more I'm affraid). On image 2 we see a Halcyon class carrier fighting some TEC cap

I hope you realize your 'quote' of me doesn't contain a comment I have made. It was something I quoted from the guy that made this post. I am not complaining about lag at all. I play on a Macbook Pro @2.2 Ghz i7 processor (with 8GB RAM) and all graphics maxed out. Just to rectify your rather unusual error. Also try to keep in mind that not everyone that plays this game runs it on a high end machine like you do.

To put an end to this: new ship limits won't be added in Rebellion anyway. It would cause the game to lag even more in later stages. They intend to make Rebellion run smoother than any Sins game that we play today.
What we're complaining about is having to pay to re-purchase intellectual property content we already own. It's basically going to be the same game as Diplomacy--same engine, same user interface, etc.--with some added features as opposed to being a bona fide Sins-2 with an improved engine and multithreading. So, it's a little bothersome that you have to pay to repurchase content you already own for the same price as so

What bothers me most is the fact that the people that didn't us their pre-order discount (which only applied to owners of Trinity and owners of the original game plus the other expansions) keep complaining that they don't get to have a discount anymore. I mean come on, Stardock offered you a chance to buy the game for 10 dollars less. If you didn't take that chance, the consequences are there for you to deal with. It's not like Stardock is some kind of charity case. Ge
