They just ad more bang for the bucks. Fleet formation would ad another level of strategy.
While it is true that extra fleet formations would make for new options during the game, it is a bit obsolete. The fleets are already formed so that your anti-strike craft fr

I think there should be more artifacts in each game generally. Right now you need to have a map with about 100 planets to get all artifacts in the game. That simply sucks. If they would make it one artifact per 3 planets on average, you would need a map with only 36 planets to get all the artifacts into the game. Would be a lot cooler in my opinion.

I'd think the TEC Athena titan would be the most resistant to enemy attacks, since it's some sort of enormous fortress. However, I think the rebel TEC Titan will pack a hell of a punch. Cannot tell how good the Advent Cherubim (I assume it's Advent) and the Vasari Charibdis titans will do, since it is still unclear how large they are compared with the TEC ones. Though they probably both have some sort of cool superweapon on board. So, at this point I would go for the

It also happened to be not true. They clearly did not ask Stardock for confirmation on the stated release date, because Yarlen already mentioned it will be released in spring 2012 instead of december 1st. Besides, there already is a similar thread about the article on RTSGuru.com, so please make sure you check the other posts on the forum first before posting something you think is new...

It would be cool to have each frigate display a different number on it's side (in the case of TEC frigates at least) par example. It shouldnt be to hard to make a new variable that counts the numbers of frigates of the same type that are built. Then write some code that would have each frigate "paint" that variable on it's side as its very own number. Something as minor as that would already make each ship feel a lot more unique and shouldn't take too much time
Put in a campaign and let people go though the campaign in co-op mode. At least then there would be a storyline that could be built on in an entertaining way.
A co-op multiplayer campaign would be a cool feature. A good way to both improve the multiplayer scene and give players a chance to finally play a campaign (which has been requested by so many people) simultaneously.

Story is important and character development is part of any game. Adding a character such as a leader to a game goes a long way towards making it more memorable.
Maybe a few Titans will make you remember their names when they ravage your home planet

It is true that culture needs a bit of a buff. One thing I would like to see improved myself, is the Deliverance Engine. Ironically, I just finished a game versus the AI in which I had build 16(!) Deliverance Engines to defeat the last enemy player with. Even with 16 of those weapons, it took me well over an hour to get the allegiance on all of his planets (which were about 12 in total) to zero. This should of course happen a lot faster if you own so many superweapons. They cost

To return to the original question: I do not think they should be removed. They are a part of the game as much as trade ports and make room for different strategic options during the game. And if you think they are useless, well, it is always your own choice to build them or not.
