[quote who="nilshansson9" reply="129" id="2906689"]Hi all, I was wondering with the new titan class will this mean that capital ships no longer have the leveling system? I would love to to capital ships becoming more similar to normal ships and have the titan become the "hero" ship. Of course this would mean that most of the abilities would have reduced maximum damage and their health/shields could be reduced as well but it would save them being targeted to some extent. What i've s
Awesome, it isn't minidumping anymore!! Thank you very much, now I can continue playing your awesome mod
Hello Every time i try to play this game it minidumps several hours into a game, it is very annoying. At first I thought it may have been because i had 8 AI's and 2 human players and it was reaching the memory limit, but i started a game recently with 4 AI and 2 humans and the thing minidumps sooner! My system Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz) Nvidia Geforce GTS 250 driver version 260.89 Windows 7 Professional 64 bit 4 GB Ram Sins of a solar em
Ok update, i've been playing in dev mode and not been getting any crashes, I have however been getting this message: Invalid Mesh Point Data String Found by IWeapon (Weapon Index Out of Bounds) Mesh = C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods-Entrenchment v1.051\Sot13T v0.96\Mesh\asklepius.mesh MeshPointString = 'Weapon-0' Parsed Weapon Index = 0 Max Weapon Index = -1 EDIT 2 Ended up
Hello,I downloaded this mod a few days ago and am enjoying it immensely, however it keeps crashing on me. It doesn't matter what is happening in the game it will just crash to desktop with a 'sins of a solar empire has stopped working' message from windows. I am running Entrenchment v 1.051 as opposed to 1.05, which may be the cause of my problems, i've noticed that there is a sins 1.05 folder where mods go but if i put the file into there it doesnt appear in the list of mods</p
Wow sounds good, from the sounds of pirates atm they are more like a mercenary military faction that you use as another hired army to spearhead your attack or create a diversion rather than a raiding force (played with pirates off so far). Here is another couple of ideas to make them more 'piratey' When not on missions Pirates should raid supply lines - destroying refinery, trade, colony and envoy ships especially. They should also capture neutal extractors and attack bo
I've haven't had any problems giving resource missions as TEC, maybe your allies haven't researched the technology yet.
Update: Upon loading the same game today the AI continued to send envoys to that planet as well as several others that i had conquered off them for the entire game.
It pretty much means you win if there are less than or equal to x players remaining AND you are all friends. The game won't prohibit you becoming friends with everyone but you'll eventually have to take sides
After conquering a planet off the one of the AI in a recent game, i noticed that they keep sending envoys to the planet even though i've been holding it for at least a half hour and there are no enemy controlled planets beyond it either. Has anyone else been experiencing this? EDIT: was playing with locked teams
After conversing with my brother he introduced the idea that they were using me the whole time to kill of their enemies, eh well its not like its a human player or anything. Backstabbing gerbil even attacked one of my planets, too bad for him i already had a starbase there [e digicons]}:)[/e] , i guess his plan would have worked if he hadn't personally crippled yellow in the last battle I guess i just don't think like that, thanks guys [e digicons][/e]
I'll edit my original post when he attacked me yellow was still alive, we had just attacked one of yellow's outer worlds. I had it on 2 player victory so once we wiped yellow it would have declared both of us victors.
I was playing a 4 player FFA with all normal ai, all of the bots were vasari i was advent, and i went through the tedious task of trying to figure out who to make friends with, i'll call them yellow, green and light green After jumping back and forwards between green and light green (yellow is a jerk!), and forgetting to reject several of their missions, i was eventually offered a cease fire by light green. I spent the next several hours building up my relations with light gre
I'll give it a go I'll mark things im not certain on with italics Diplomatic Inclination: might be based on fleet strength (too strong to fight so we'll coooperate) Racial Inclination: +1 if same race -1 or -2 if others Adjacent Territory: proximity to their emipire, further away is better Missions: increase from completing missions max of +3 Mission Rejections: reduction from rejecting their miss
I think its based on the number of planets they control
Playing a game just then, the normal AI i teamed up with apparently didn't get the research because i still couldn't request a resource mission after 3 hours of play :S

I have not yet purchased Sins of a Solar Empire, but after looking around on the internet and on these forums it looks like a game i would be interested in. Anyway I wanted to find out some things about the game before I buy. 1. The game seems to need something called Impulse to run, what is Impulse? is it similar to steam in purpose? 2. I want to be able to play this game over a network with a single CD key, is this possible? If so how would I do this? cheers<
Damn CDwow.com had the release date as 1st January 2010 now i found out that it doesn't come out until February :(
