Yesterday, me and my friend were playing a map I made, it had all the planet types and a secret cluster, consisting of 2 Ancient Citadels and the Consiousness of The Unity ( I know I can't type), which were insanely hard to get to, aquire and defend, because I thought they would be cool and usefull and very powerful and valuable things to own, until I found out the the Unity was nothing more than a planet and that the Citadels were empty. Sadly we need coders and sexperienced mappers for that, because even though I can make maps, there is not working template system to be had, aka I can't do squat on the technical side of things.

Why would you need to see phase lines, when you can just simply, click on a planet you need to send your ships and they will go. Or if you want to see them for the strategic aspect, simply click on all the neighboringplanets with your ships and you will see if there are pahse lines. As for making them different colours, there should be a texture or something, that handles those, I will search for it now.

I had the same problem, which is why I stopped playing online and do all my multiplayer with Tunngle (much better than Hamachi) . Sure I play only with 2 guys+AI but it's just a better experience to have a stable game and such.
Just a side note, very small element, that will just add to the polishedness of the mod. In order to capture wrecks of ships, you need to click Crew Extractor, well seing as this button, now actually has the efect of sending a crew to capture a derelict facility or vessel. Because it makes sence, I just can't find it believeable, that we build our bases with their backs turned to the enemy, and we can't rotate them.
Excuse my language, I did not mean to offend you, as I really did enjoy the way that looked, but as a cynical HALO fan boy I have the urge to pop up and criticise everything which so much as bends cannon, as long as it is HALO related. You did an outstanding job with the effect, it's just that it should either be a tad slower or miss more, to fit with cannon. Again, excuse my language if I offend you, and yes you did a very god job on those effects. :)
Ok, and what about giving us the ability to control it's rotation, as in, you just right click as a normal move order, but it doesn't move it just rotates, to face the direction in which you clicked? Is that doable?
Suggestion: Make Starbases moveable, increase hangar capacity, currently I can rival a starbase with a carrier ship and a carrier cruiser, making it moveable does not mena being able to jump. Slightly increase cost and modaratly increase build time. P.S. It should move slow.
It looks very good, though it strikes me as a bit non cannon, as in, it is stated that sure, they do trace, but they are also slow, and have a high chance of missing, a lot like a needler in HALO Combat Evolved, sure it does trace, but give it an agile enough target and it won't hit it. That is what gives the UNSC ships survivability, that they can evade, otherwise, covenant wipe us out in an instant.
Why would I, seing as I have only modified an already existing portrait? Or do I have to? From what I can see, that file deals with the location of portraits, but I have not added any, I have just edited an existing one, that does work, only that my edit does not show up in the selection screen, I thought that that screen was handled by PlyayerPortraitlarge
I edit the stock ones, aka I just edited I did not add any. I edited the .tga files, namely: Player_Portrait_Large; Player_Portrait_Button; Player_Portrait_Small; Player_Portrait_Window . However, seing as this particular portrait is from the Distant Stars mod, there was no Player_Portrait_Medium to edit, but this is irrelevant, because my modification does not apear only in the Player Options window, where you select portraits.
Why would you, the reasearch is just plain better and better fleshes out the races diffrences.
I repeat my question, because this issue seems weird. I edit the picture in the Player_Portrait_Large and the modification, does not show up ingame, though the modifications to the buttons and info card one, work. What went worng and what to do.
Any idea on when we should be expecting a v1.0 Release or atleast the next version compatible with Diplomacy, though from the testing I did, there really are very few things worng with it, for a beta, this is very polished.
