To be perfectly honest, I lost interest in Rebellion. Their list of new features does not address any of the major problems with the game. Ships don't even move in 3D space. My suggestion is to forget about Rebellion. It's basically a remixed Trinity with the additions of titans and corvettes. I'm not even sure if it's worth pirating unless you want a definitive version of Trinity on your hard drive.

Loving the hangar stuff and the merc hiring etc. Let me repost what I posted elsewhere on a campaign mode: I think any sort of "campaign mode" would get repetitive very quickly. For each race, again

Beta is most likely next year as well since it's going to be a very short beta.
I emailed IC and they said it's set for next year.
I don't think IC is going to release new info this month. I'm predicting screenshots and teasers sometime in the Fall at very earliest. Rebellion has a long ways to go.
I'm actually more interested in hearing about their plans for promoting Rebellion than I am about its specific content.
Ignoring the large customer base on Steam was probably the worst mistake they ever made. It boggles my mind every time I think about it.
Anyone else fed up with the lack of info? Be honest.

1. Same engine, same problems 2. Poor numbers in pre-orders show lack of interest 3. No Steam support will hurt sales prospect 4. More factions increase unbalance in already unbalanced game which may delay launch even further and put a pinch on funding 5. Past patches have been underwhelming; could increase pirating of sequel since players will think the game will never be balanced in a meaningful way 6. Sins is too slow in multiplayer. If multiplayer c
no teaser yet?
Although I think marketing will play a bigger role, you do have a point. They'll have to time the release date when 6ghz CPUs are out.
Question: Do you think during the time it's going to take IC to make Rebellion, they could have redone the engine and made it 64x multi-threaded? I'm looking at the poll and it says "Would you like to see another Sins expansion?" when what I really wanted to read was "Would you like to see a vast and much needed improvement to the current engine?" Where did it go wrong? Were we not vocal enough? Yeah, I get it. They need to sell something to stay in business. I would h
where are the pictures for sins rebellion???
imagine if this game got sold to blizzard who in turn made it playable thru battle.net then got funded to update sins1 to 64bit ver or sins2 cause thats all they did with the starcraft they just updated part 1 and called it part 2...
Maybe Ironclad should sell the game since they are so reluctant to update the game properly. Yes, I'm bitter.
Hmm I am not sure how to feel about the pricing for this stand alone expansion, as a beta adopter of original game and all the DLC to date, even the discounted $29.95 seems high for the content so far mentioned. The fact we have 1 screenshot so far , doesn't exactly make it super enticing atm...
I agree. The price is higher than expected.
It feels a bit premature to pre-order without screenshots. Just saying! And I'm dissapointed to hear Rebellion won't be multithreaded. It's been what, 3 years since the first Sins came out and Ironclad is still using the same excuses? I find this absoutely absurd considering Sins is a cpu intensive game. Someone back me up on this!!
i'd go with a i5-2500k and a p67 motherboard. but you might have to wait a month or two until they bring out updated p67 motherboards which remedy the faulty chipset of earlier models. btw, the i5-2500k overclocks very nicely. ssd drive if you can afford, like the OCZ Vertex 3 Pro which has the new SF-2500 controller. you'll want to hook that to your sata 6gp port. as for graphics card, whatever hits the sweetspot in price and performance.
@Pbhead Never played Sins online because I prefer to micro in my multiplayer RTS games. Ships also require too much space to turn and shield mitigation makes focus fire pretty useless. @Darvin3 I have to admit, the first few minutes of an SC2 match are pretty boring. The game needs a fast start.
@DirtySanchez With Starcraft, I get to max out my army, upgrade my weapons, and use tier 3 units all in 20 minutes. To get a comparable experience with Sins, it would take hours and hours, which is fine in single player mode where I get to adjust the speed whenever I want. In short, I like them both for different reasons. BRING ON SINS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING ON SINS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRING ON SINS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@DirtySanchezz and everyone else: Playing Sins that way doesn't appeal to me.. I'd rather get my multiplayer fix through Starcraft. The AI in Sins is actually fine for me. Bring on Sins 2 (or another expansion)!!!!! I will start a petition if I have to, just let me know!!! I'm crazy about this game!!!!
