Well, a lot of newer players were complaining that the difficulty jump from Normal to Hard was too much since normal got revised down. Especially on the steam forums.
While I can see that, I think the solution is buffing Normal and Easy rather than nerfing Hard. Plus, as Seleuceia mentioned, will we be back for this discussion later when people say the jump from Hard to Unfair is now too big?

Why was the resource/income bonus for Hard AI decreased? The Hard AI is fairly well balanced, and after how the Normal AI has been playing pitifully since it's resource/income bonus was removed, I don't see why this is a good idea, let alone the need for such a nerf. I'd argue that the Normal AI needs to have it's old bonuses restored and that the Easy AI needs to have it's resource/income penalty reduced or removed entirely. Other than that, the DLC changes/balance tweaki

Vanilla Sins is very difficult to mod due to it requiring the mod have ALL of Sins' files present. Just work with Entrenchment or Diplomacy; it doesn't have this requirement.

Stars don't get hit by that selection. Also, look on the bright side; once you have an exception list done, you can reuse it in the future.

Maybe you need to explicitly set them to aggressive or something on the fiefdom maps, as without other players in the solar systems maybe some AI types won't care to attack.
I've found the AI isn't that great at jumping between systems, but I have seen then use wormholes decently. He's sure. For maps, there's two settings, metersPerGalaxyUnit and pixelsPerGalaxyUnit. The former is the actual scale of the map; increasing it increases the distance between planets. The latter is what Makon is asking about, which frankly, is something I'd like to know as well.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I really wish IC didn't start work on a MOBA. It's a serious waste of time and resources to work on something, in that genre, when DOTA and LOL have such HUGE market shares. If Sins of a Dark Age was a spiritual spinoff in a fantasy/medieval theme (like Total Annihilation with the Kingdoms entry), that'd be fine, but I feel they're wasting good development time with this.
