I'm pretty sure that if you sign a pact with someone, then they can't offer the same pact to you, because you already have it. I'm pretty sure (someone confirm this) that you can have only one pact per row on the "Manage Pacts" screen. I'd like someone to check this though.
No, this is wrong, you can both offer and accept the same pact.

I wonder exactly how the diplomacy pacts work, and if you get greater benefits if you do them with another faction. For example lets say I play Advent and do the research pact with another Advent player, then he and I both get 48% faster research and 5% cost reduction right? What happens when he then offers research pact to me? do we both get an additional 48 and 5%? and what if im doing this in relation to a tec player where he instead offers trade pact.
You are not alone in your concerns, there is a lot of discussion and reballancing going on with regards to the superweapons currently.
You should expect the Vasari sometime next month (probably early as TEC was early Mars, and Advent early April) The finished game will have 3 races (well 2 really as TEC and Advent are both human)
The main difference is that higher AI difficulty levels have an income advantage, so they are able to get their hands on better ships and techs earlier than a human player could with the same income rates. There is no difference in the way the AI uses its resources though, so don't expect better tactics when playing against harder AI players.
You dont happen to know what the adjustments are at the various le

Also I think Cruel and Vicious get research and perhaps other miscellaneous bonuses, though none that directly influence combat.
With that, dont you mean normal have no handicaps?
Quoting Palp79, reply 46And also to put the Novalith back among the missiles for TEC loyalist research. /facepalm no that would mess up the tec loyalist early advantage
No it wouldn't, why do they need the ability to rush to Novalith?
I wonder about what exactly separates the different AI difficulty levels, and especially on which ones it plays on different rules (positive and negative). And also more exactly what difference the different types, anyone have some info on this?

I think the best would be an option that is 0-2-4-8-unlimited and per star system. And also to put the Novalith back among the missiles for TEC loyalist research.
Whining that all things are not enabled mid open beta process is rather fail. And it makes a lot of sense for the Vasari to be the last ones enabled as they seem to be the ones undergoing the biggest change, with consuming planets and whatnot.
Even better it continues after they are all dead and defeated haha, the ghost of Advents past is upon the galaxy :(.
The problem with Novaliths right now is that for the TEC loyalist they have been lifted out of their former place in the tech tree. They are tech 6 military with no prerequisites so they can rush to them, while the tech rebels need to research 7 things in missile tech before reaching it and the Advent is similar. I say put the loyalists Novalith research back somewhere in missiles so it cant be rushed too like now, then add a superweapons counter to game options 0-2-4-6-un
On the other hand it isnt strange that we get them last as the loyalist Vasari seems to be the ones undergoing the biggest change with the whole abandoning of planets and becoming spaceborn thing.
I think it is that they get tired of all the constant war, so they jump out into the void, hoping of finding something better, it is very sad really :(.
A command for mass scuttling of all you have marked would be nice, especially for scuttling those large minefields you dont want for some reason. The interface is close to perfect but I find this missing.
I did and it was not there :D.
At victory the voice calling "Victory!" never stops, neither on the victory screen or after if you continue playing, it just goes on with "Victory! Victory! Victory!" even if you save your game then load, further after you continue playing form the victory screen it permanently says "String not found" on the lower left of the screen, are these related?
