I'm personally not going to play in any games with turtle again...whether others decide to as well, that's their choice.

Turtleundefeated (aka Chose from Vanilla sins) again held up a game by around 40-50 mins before I finally decided to leave. I've seen him do it on at least 2-3 other occasions.
Guys, a tournament in March is being organised, sign up if you're interested. Thread is here. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/440294/page/2 Website to sign up on tournament is here. http://soase.challonge.com/march
Wow this looks great! I'm in Also, I think you'll have more luck filling the tournament if you post this in the 'Sins Multiplayer' section, rather than in 'multiplayer organiser'. The ICO regulars only post and probably only read on 'Sins Multiplayer'
Yep, you're welcome Zyz, pros hardly ever go on 1v1 these days and tend to 'hide' behind 5s so make the most of this game, As we were both Tec there was also nothing relatively op or exploitable about the races..this game was down to pure skill [e digicons]:)[/e]
I almost always lead with akkan. Though yes, most people tend towards the marza.
Agreed that strip to the core in the hands of another race would not be as bad fleet-wise, but it's OP more because of the amount of resources you can get in no time just from stripping a few planets rather than the fact that vasari end game fleets are most bad-ass. It's just unfortunate that a tech like this is given to the race which can field a fleet that does most DPS.
The only broken thing about VL is their titan...
Its not just the VL titan but also strip to the core makes VL broken. You can still use strip to the core even if you don't have the equivalent of 8 imperial labs. Sure its capped to supply fleet now but its still no way near enough.. you get insane amounts of resources. In fact, once VL get this tech, they become even more op than a late game VR with jumping sbs, given that they
I think VL should be banned. I'm fine allowing VR but without allowing jumping starbases...its kind of like how we are allowing AR without wail.

Z axis should be removed from the game (not scrolling into and out of planets, but controlling fleet to move in z axis should be removed). Research labs could be play a more interesting role in the game than they currently do. If they get destroyed, then you should lose ALL research (including HP, etc) until it they are rebuilt again, not just a select few researched things like units or ability for cannons to fire etc. I mean, it doesn't make sense that, for example, units should
XZephyrAquans, you're not ZuoAn by any chance are you? If not, ZuoAn's response to the original post was remarkably quick..

I have a video. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/438722 LOOK.
If you look at the replay, I am not in that game. The one I vaguely remember I think had Azure star, Anhpp and another player (maybe Osan) vs me, slackah and Huymac or Jakemac, which our team ended up winning. There's only 3 main things I play for now. 1) to have fun, 2) improve my skill and 3) sometimes to teach. I don't care so much about winning as I used to do anymore. Rankings, reputation etc don't matter. You are actually 3 people: the one you think you are, the one others think you are, and the One you really are. This is why I don't care who I cap against, and don't care what team I end up with. But sure, I'll be happy to see you next week ZuoAn
generally speaking, unless a passworded game is hosted, or if there is something specific in the game title like 'skilled only', all are welcome to join the game. This means you cannot control the player pool that joins. To have a fair match, we try to even out the skill level of the players so that the match will be as fair as possible. To do this there is a standard called 'PUG'. However there is also nothing wrong in challenging certain players and arranging a match
I'm now also mentoring Lazword.
Lord Daem is officially my mentee.
Lord Daem, I think I can help you out as my time zone is also London. I will add you as steam. Do you want to accept me as your mentor? My steam name is PlayerSlayer.
New players, in your post could you also indicate under which pro you would like to be mentored?
Red as an advent at front line is tier 1, and as tec loyalist player also tier 1. He was (or is) after all, my first unofficial mentee and I'm sure he'll continue to improve.
I'm PlayerSlayer, also happy to help mentoring 1 player at a time. But I am usually quite busy with my uni course too so if you can bear with that, I'm happy to help out. I play all races so I can help you develop your skills to pro level at any race you want, and in any map situation you find yourself starting with. If you're interested message me on Steam (steam name also PlayerSlayer). Also check out Ruby's post where pros and new players can get advice on h

But in terms of picking teams, giving equal opportunity to a given pair of caps is within your control. Guessing numbers is like calling a coin toss. There's always a 50% chance that you'll lose (or greater if players 'fix' numbers). On the other hand simply alternating who gets fir
Are you're talking about a string of games where you have roughly the same players? The thought occurs to me that if this is the case, you could negotiate your terms ahead of time so it was understood the picking order would alternate.
Yes. This is another way to put it. The players in each game do not have to be the same, only the caps. Of course, like Seleucia says, it's not mandatory to always be a cap eith
All I'm saying is this. If cap A gets the choice to pick or defer in game 1, then cap B should get this opportunity in the next game. This is assuming they both cap vs each other in the next game. Isn't this fairer than relying on guessing numbers to determine who gets first/second pick all the time? I can't explain it any clearer than this..
