I don't know what to tell you.

Mods don't work very well with Steam. I don't have EaW/FoC on Steam, but have heard of the problems. It has to do with the way the files are arranged, the Steam version is the Gold Pack, and the file structure is different than the original releases of the games. Try this YouTube video.
That would be the problem right there... Thanks for clarification...
Indeed, that's my problem too, why would I buy a game that uses third party software I don't need? Steamworks doesn't offer anything that ICO didn't already have as far as I am concerned, and ICO works well enough for my purposes.
Actually, Stardock is doing the majority of the work on Rebellion, with Ironclad fulfilling more of an advisory role, because Ironclad is developing another game, Sins of a Dark Age, see https://www.sinsofadarkage.com .
Indeed, we've got more of a Brotherhood of Darkness here than an Order of the Sith Lords anyway.
No, you will just have to download and activate it with Steam, because Steam is a third party client to GameStop.
What I find interesting about this mess is that the name of the game is 'Rebellion' and we as consumers are Rebelling against the fact we have to use steam. So correct me if I'm wrong but when I come home from work and want to fire up a game, I have to first, launch steam and then play Sins. To me that's like asking permission to play a game I bought from someone out side my home. "Please sir, I have been a goo
Actually its "Always two there are. No more, no less. A Master and an apprentice."
I am hesitant to install these new drivers, after the last drivers were bad and had problems with Stronghold Kingdoms.
As a gaming trend, absolutely. But I don't care what the trends are when forming what I want from a game. They're really isn't an argument here. The only action I am demanding from Stardock is to email all preorderers that Rebellion will now require steam, as a change in DRM scheme is something they ought to know about. If you're right and those of us that "refuse to evolve" get left in the dust so be it.
Informing
Oh no, I do hold it against them.
We understand their decision, that's the important thing, not holding it against them probably wasn't the best choice of words.
I dont see the "negative" thing here.
The "negative" thing about this is some of us, like Darvin, GoaFan, and myself, don't like Steam, specifically Steamworks. As GoaFan mentioned above, we don't like being forced into using Steam by a company that has until recently, been the last bastion for those who don't like Steam. We do understand their decision, and don't hold it against Stardock.
So long as your games use Steamworks, I will not purchase them. I understand your decision, and I'm sure you understand mine. Nothing personal Stardock, best wishes Sins community. This is where we part ways.
I second this, I already don't have a computer to play Sins on, and now Steamworks is involved, so I have absolutely no reason to get Rebellion.
Yarlen just answered the Steam situation here , and many people who don't want to be forced to use Steam will never play Rebellion because of it.
I wonder why EA had to get involved with a LucasArts game in the first place, if its just because BioWare is one of their studios, then that would be really annoying.
Stardock was developing its own system for this called Impulse: Reactor when they sold it to Gamestop. Sadly the new owners seem to have scrapped this project and now it seems Steam was their only choice. Why else would they use steam works?
Yeah, this is what happens when you sell something like Impulse and Impulse::Reactor, to the morons at GameStop... Like Darvin and Goa, I will probably be parting ways with Sins if it u
The TA series (OTA and Kingdoms) may be dated graphic wise now, but the gameplay still stands up to this day. If you want TA with better graphics then play Sup Com, and Forged Alliance (NOT Sup Com 2).
TA's interface is the only thing that bugs me, I am used to being able to group units. I so need a job so I can afford new toys to do Sup Com and Forged Alliance justice. [quote who="Chibiabos" reply="49" id="3085546"
Rebellion is being developed by Stardock. Not Ironclad. IC is just saying yay or nay on stuff. IC is busy developing their next big thing.
Their next big thing is apparently something called SoaDA , its probably that ground based RTS they have been rumored to be working on.
EA created a new studio, Victory Games, to develop CnC games in the aftermath of CnC 4, then about a year later renamed them to BioWare Victory.

Well, it isn't working on my end, there is a space at the end that is breaking it.
The link in the OP needs to be edited, there is a space at the end that breaks it.
