Assuming I understand the mechanic right (which I may not since SINS Developers use alien math with their Percentages lol), we can calc the following: If Seekers are fully maxed then we have a 30% laser power increase making base damage 2.6 Before Mitigation the dps is 500*2.6= 1300 Mitigation starts at 15% +1% per 10 Damage-1.25%/Sec. Mitigation & Damage are calculated in sequential waves, about ever other second, therefore the first "Wave" should do approx 1300*.

Since the title only says counters to ships and not ships that counter each other, I think structures must be considered fair game in the discussion. With that being the case, I would place hangers with Phasic Trap and Flak Cannons in the SC counter category as well. LF counters Seige frigates and flak. The Cap Ship Category depending on particular ship and abilities could be said to counter most everything.

And the winner is... Seleuceia ! I had tagged my iconus to certain ships so they would actually follow and be effective but those ships were moving around enough to negate much of the effectiveness of autocast Shield Projection. I've now set them to follow my caps and they are working just fine.

Darvin3- you are correct for the late game certainly. TEC just does not have the raw firepower to threaten other fleets on the order of malice spam, scramble bomber spam, volatile nanites etc. My point was more that if you have done things right in the first 15 Min, then in the mid game (15-45 min) time span, there should be little that is a viable challenge to a well played TEC hence this is the time when they must gain the early advantege you spoke of. One thing to remember about playing as TEC is that their ability to be a HUGE Economic juggernaut gives them some level of flexibility and leeway in regards to mistakes. With enough money, many short term tactical mistakes can be overcome. So I am a newbie to SINS, just bought the full Trinity pack which has been alot of fun. Related to this topic, I am having trouble with the AI on the Advent Iconus Guardian. It never seems to activate Shield projection when I have it in a fleet. I am having to micro this every time. Do I need to disable auto attack on them so they only use their abilities? Any help would be much appreciated.
