MajorStress, Psychoak & Myfist0 : I have SinsII now that it's been launched on Steam. I'm still getting used to it (mainly UI & economy changes) and I haven't even started to look at modding yet. But I should be around to help a little * if * we decide on porting over to SinsII. Edit : There are some modding tools for SinsII at https://github.com/IroncladGames/tools/
It is clunky and potentially horrific. OneDrive really should deal with it more cleanly.
OK Yarlen. Yet more OneDrive woes with the Mod directory in Sins. With Windows 11, it appears you cannot have a directory within the OneDrive directory tree that is not backed up by OneDrive. Clearing the checkbox on the Mods-Rebellion v1.85 folder in the Accounts tab of the OneDrive client now means that those files w

Q: Is Sins compatible with Windows 11?
Not sure how much weight to give to these reports, but B5 might be making a comeback. Hopefully they won't *!@k it up like reboots of other Sci-Fi franchises. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wF38mBKmhc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6PaqzKjHzU

Still no rebellion.user.setting override to be able to move the mod directory to an alternate location? I'm still not able to play any mods as they always get backed up to OneDrive which then quickly gets filled up. That should be quick an easy change that would make a lot of people's life easier.
Saw this at the end of the referenced article from the BBC and instantly thought this could be another opportunity for Stardock given I've been a long time user of Start 8 and Start 10 Quote:- Rebranding rumours aside, it is likely to include a host of new features, a more modern look and a redesigned Start menu.
Any progress on making the location of the mod directory configurable? Ref: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/496444/enhancement-request-make-mod-directory-configurable
I've modded Sins on and off for some time now, so I'm familiar with the directory structure. It is typically of the form C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.85 I'm also familiar with the DOS mklink /J command to create a symbolic link to another directory, eg on a drive with more capacity than C:, though free space on C: is not an issue here. However, I've hit a real snag after installing Sins on a ne
Some of the minor factions have, and can rebuild, their own capital ships. However if their capital ship gets destroyed, and they are allied with you, then this affects your own empire's capital ship total in the stats screen. Probably shouldn't as they don't get counted in the in-game fleet supply/command crew points
i need to know also. I have yet to figure out how to take over a minor faction. If this is the old versions of Sins then this is probably an issue with newer laptops that have two GPUs, one high end the other low end for minimizing drain on the battery. IIRC early versions of Sins Rebellion used to problems on such systems. I had problem on my MSi (GTX 1060 + Intel HD 530) where it didn't detect the available resolutions, hence would run in a low res mode. Switching from full-screen to windowed mode and maximizing seemed an easy work-around in my
That is probably quite a minor reason for why Windows applications aren't available for Linux. Just because many (not all) Linux distros are free, and files can be copied (the latter of which is also true of Windows) does not mean software companies cannot charge for software that runs on that operating system. Many enterprise server applications run on Unix, including Linux, and they can cost a lot of money. What's probably more of an issue is the different operating system
Note sure about Ashes but, IIRC, the string file in Sins of a Solar Empire supported UTF-8 encoding. Maybe worth using that rather than Shift-JIS codepage encoding.

If you're planning any more updates to Sins here's a request for some minor UI tweaks 1) Empire Tree key binding: & keys select your homeworld and the most recently colonized planet respectively. 2) Stats window->Empire: separate out diplomatic research done from civilian 3) Stats window->Fleet: include "Frigates - Envoy" 4) Stats window->Fleet & Capital Ships: include class-name (eg , alongside, role-name).
