I would also like if my opponents did not know they were going to have a TEC Reb Titan up their behinds, or that spending cash on bounty is useless! Or that I am going to build a starbase at the pirate base bwuahahahaaa * Edit * Or that I am going to camp and wait for them to make a mistake. *Random inside my favourite race* option like OP suggested would do this for me
Are you sure it's not a technology that give you neutrals / pirates?
Good catch - that could be an issue with the TEC Rebels with their new research. Should not be an issue for the TEC Loyalists though - they can still kill the pirates. * Edit * I will try a game against a TEC Rebel to see if for me it has the same problem. Actually, I will put one of each in and entrench myself to see what goes on with the planets behin

I also experienced a Hard AI player, camper with Loyalist TEC, not expanding past any pirate bases. It only built 2 Starbases in 12 planets, and spam built between 3 and 5 broadcast centres per planet. There was a Titan and a few Capital ships, but nothing close to the amount you would expect 6 hours into the game. PS: I wanted to test my Advent vs a hard Camper since I play with a few campers [e digicons]

Thanks again kryo. I am just used to games moving to Steam dropping that part and forcing me to use the Steam way of making multiplayer games. But what you stated should work then for me. Still not pumped about Steam, but if offline will work for my LAN games I will make a plan to get it set up with my friends as well. Will make a plan to get the Beta downloaded soon and give it a whirl.

Thanks kryo. Got a message from lilB as well stating that "site states steamworks" and "the returns policy" etc. Anycase, Steamworks it is, I wil have to live with it, even if downloading 500Mb takes a whole week. But does this mean "traditional LAN" functionality is gone? Where we play the game (my house) the physical broadband lines were stolen (South Africa rules [e digicons]:hugme:[/e] ), so connecting to Steam to play a LAN game is not an option.

On Impulse, when starting SoaSE:Trinity, I could just run the game from the desktop icon without starting Impulse. Or I could start Impulse, check for updates and run my game from there. Question 1) With my other games that are on Steam, even if I use the desktop Icon, Steam starts. Will Rebellion also ALWAYS start Steam or can I still run it "independantly"? Question 2) Will you be able to play the game WITHOUT being forced to update? I remember Shogun, even after disabling a
