A 4-hour game is extraordinarily long in the first place... and I'd wager that by that point the bottleneck is probably one of the players' CPUs, rather than a problem with Sins itself. If there are tens of thousands of ships/particles etc in the galaxy, the lower-performing CPUs simply can't keep up and game speeds slow to a crawl. I really recommend playing shorter games, like the kinds you see online, which rarely last more than an hour and a bit but have a much more en

Come onto ICO again. There are tons of newbies and tons of games going up every few minutes. If you think you're a decent player, come online and test it out for real against other players who play competitively.

I've played multiplayer for a while now and have never seen anyone seeming to hack, or even heard of anyone accusing anyone of hacking.
Howthe?'s the name he goes by on ICO and (at least to me) sounds a lot better than shortening to howdidu. /offtopic

Yeah, games on ICO take much less time than 10 hours - typically they last from 30 minutes to a little over an hour.
If you already know the game mechanics pretty well and have played a number of multiplayer games to have a sense of things, they're definitely pretty easy. As is TEC, really. Build a bunch of LRM. Then Hoshikos. Keep spamming until you die or your enemy dies. As is Advent. Build a ton of Disciples and attack. Maybe build scouts too if your enemy gets LRF. In a relatively cramped setting (quite common for ICO), the general idea for each faction is sim

ICO 5v5 games don't often take more than an hour or so to be decided, at least in my experience. Saving/resuming is never a problem - after all, people expect games to take a moderate amount of time. If you are skilled with Vasari, late-game you will easily dominate either of the other two races.
I'd really recommend that you get the basics of the original game down well first before you start experimenting with mods, but it's your choice! :)
3. Not really, the TEC is probably the most popular faction online now, due to their powerful rush game they have at the moment...
At least from when I've been on ICO, I'd say that Vasari's the most common faction... especially among the skilled players.
1 is multiplayer more fun then singleplayer?
Yes. Yes yes yes yes yes a thousand times. The AI has only the basic grasp of the most rudimentary strategy, if even that. Playing multiplayer adds a whole new dimension to the game and is against opponents who are actually able to think and make decent decisions. However, you might want to make sure that you have the basics of the game down first in single-player before you go online, or you'll pro
I think they just need to buff refineries significantly, such that 6+ rocks in surrounding wells would make them profitable in a reasonable length of time. As much as I love trade, I hate to say it, but it might need a nerf - but only in very large empires with tons of trade ports already. Trade chain bonuses are fine, but maybe every trade port after the 10th or something should start getting serious diminishing returns. I don't know if the engine could handle a formula for somet

It just makes more sense that you need to research the culture upgrade in both the civilian and defense tree.
