If you don't want to take as many losses (or, don't want to take ANY losses) and you're playing against the AI, simply build a bunch of carrier capital ships and keep them on the edge of the gravity well, warping them out when they take significant damage. You could build carrier cruisers too, but you'll have to be quicker on the uptake to warp them out in time. The AI simply can't handle large numbers of strikecraft attacking it, nor is it that good at taking out

As the title says. Sometimes when playing as Vasari, some or all of my construction frigates will suddenly refuse to keep building a structure. As in, it gets 1% built (or, sometimes, 35%, or more), and then the construction frigate stops "constructing" for a minute or two, and only then keeps building the structure. This has never happened while playing any of the other races. Manually telling the lazy construction frigate to construct the structure, or telling another construction frigate i

As the title says. Every time I use one of the Dev.exe's, all my settings (key binding, video options, effect options, etc) are reset. Given that I often want to use the dev.exe for testing purposes, this is very problematic. Dev.exe starts with everything on default, and when I exit and use the main game executable, everything there's been reset too. Any idea on how to fix this?

Just did some experiments. I practiced using a Sova and telling it to turn around and go outside the gravity well: 3 times, I MM'd it to first turn around 45 degrees before accelerating, and 3 times, I just ordered it to move to the target point. Each time, it was quicker when it turned around partway before accelerating, averaging about 10 seconds faster</s

I think that, at the moment, the scene is too small to be worrying about map download restrictions for what you call "ranked games". If players want to play on some map, let them do so with minimal hassle, regardless of rank or number of players. It may still be quite simple for anyone to forge a record with any number of wins or losses anyway. While having preset and known maps would help balance, it would also make the first few minutes of a game much more boring than they are now.

No one with an ounce of sense would want to sabotage the tactical mechanics of their own game. The devs aren't that stupid. They created a game this great, I refuse to believe that they would intentionally create something like this which obviously detracts from play

I've been playing Trinity for a while now, and while fun, there's one big problem all of my ships seem to have. For instance, say I have a few torpedo cruisers attempting to take down an enemy starbase. If I realize it'd be better to retreat, and tell the torpoedo cruisers to turn around and exit the gravity well (150-180 degrees AWAY from the starbase), what do the torpedo cruisers do? They charge directly into the starbase

From what I've heard, MP games are usually decided before diplomatic affects from envoys have a chance to kick in much. Feeding, however (giving credits and resources to allies who need it) is essential. The same basic strategies from Entrenchment are used: combat is basically the same. Expand quickly, upgrade and fill out your fleet supply when expecting a battle in the near future, and know the counters for each unit. (every ship type is weak against some other ship types: knowing the n

If it is, as you say, a "rip off", yet you buy it anyway, that's your own problem. And if people buy it despite the DLC, they clearly think they'll appreciate the game more than the money they used to buy it is worth to them: to them, it's not a rip-off, evidently, even if the DLC is a negative. I don't see the problem. Let people buy what they want. If they like a game despite DLC, good for them. If they think the DLC and the price outweigh the pos

I think any sort of "campaign mode" would get repetitive very quickly. For each race, against any sort of AI, the same basic strategy will probably be used. Campaign mode should be significantly different from what could have been a series of random-small or random-medium maps. To make it halfway worthwhile, I think they'd have to make up new victory conditions so it isn't just "expand, then kill every enemy planet". For instance, campaign-based victory conditions

I looked at the replay you posted. I think the most important thing is understanding the importance of early expansion: you should be taking useful planets (anything but dead asteroids) as fast as possible: to take planets, you (generally) need to use your military units to destroy the neutral ships: therefore, your military units should be doing something at all times , whether it's taking out neutral ships or regenerating health in a safe gravity well. They should never
