Do you do your test inside a neutral well? Cause that can shift all the maths...
Do you use hard aggressor? There are a few types of AI. Researcher, turtler, etc. Aggressor allows for a full out battle game

Well if you loose a planet to a player you did something bad and whether or not he strips it, there is a chance you can retake it or loose the next one... you are already on the defensive. If he strips is own planet eventually he will have less income then you, because he won;t have population on it. You then need to kill is capital and he will loose is research lab, is income, etc. The loyalist is based around is cap ships and is remaining station feeding
I don;t agree with your strip the core part, if players strip too many planet they simply loose in the long run, if you are able to hold your corner. It is a very good way to end the game too, this games need to be faster anyway, that is what titans are for.
Both those have the worst diplomatic standing. TEC rebel hate everyone except the pirate and the vasarie loyalist just want to strip planets and run... Ttry the vasarie rebel, the Rebel advent or the tec loyalist... If I understand they are the ones willing to cooperate. AI are very hard to code, the best and easy way to make them competitive to humans, is to make them cheat. All RTS are the same, every AI as a edge by cheating. Humans all have a different play style, etc other humans will adapt but AI can't even super computers are taken by humans, look at big blue, everything they try, it get beaten after a while because human learn very fast where AI have to be programmed. Also you can use the RED Button to do two massive AoE on him... that should hurt is fleet
for conquered planet you don't want to defend it's worth it. You can then insure he can't retake a bottleneck by destroying it... hence no static defenses, etc

Hullo, I wanted to ask to the option top toggle on or off the level kept after a titan dies. I play single player only but I like this game to be challenging. We can take cruel easy, if titan keep their level their ain't even a scare of breaking it... (I admit it puts the advent one under the bar since it's stupid ultimate is a dying wish but I don;t play them anyway...) Cheers.
