Well, thank you anyway, Yarlen for replying so quickly. Tough I am a bit bummed at the entire soundtrack not being included on CD, this does not hurt my hopes for the collector's edition one bit. I hope that the Rebellion music will be just as great as the rest of the Sins music, and I think that getting Paul Schuegraf to do the music for this game was the best choice to make, as he does an amazing job one the Sins soundtrack and I am sure has a great career ahead of him.<

Oh man. I feel really bad. Here I am, the one who made the (now dead) Rebellion Collector's Edition post and I have not pre-ordered the game. Should I pre-order now? Is there any chance I would be able to buy one? I am not even near my gaming computer which I play Sins on (it's at my mom's house and I am at my dad's, and I won't be going back to my mom's until the summer). I would have to download Steam. I really, really want the Collector's

Oh. My. God. Yarlen, you listened to my post! I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. Will this include the full soundtrack from Sins or just the additions from Rebellion? If it includes all of the soundtrack from the original game, the micro-expansions and Rebellion, the FULL thing, then I will be in musical heaven. If two CDs cannot contain all of the music, I would put 3 or however many it takes to contain all of the music. The original soundtrack CD did not cont

Well, I didn't even see this post until recently, and only now have the time to introduce myself on it. Obviously, my name is Ibnpatuta (not my real name, but it is fun to say). I have been playing Sins of a Solar Empire since the Christmas of the year it came out (2008, wasn't it?). In that time I have never played a single online match or even looked into doing so. In fact, I have never played an online match in any of the games I have owned, which include Skyrim, Fallout 3,

The music was not too loud at all. If anything, I felt at the beginning it was a bit too quiet. But at the end, when the music picked up and the lasers and plasma and beams and waves and missiles started flying, I was in Sins of a Empire heaven. I hope they do not change the music volume in the final release. It would make the video somewhat less awesome. I love the Sins of a Solar Empire music.

The collector's edition will be in a boxed set, or so Stardock says. They have not released much of any details on it except that they are making one. I don't know if it will require Steam or not. I hope not, because I also boycott Steam.

My duty has been fulfilled, then. There will be a collector's edition for Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion. With this I leave the post which I have so faithfully slaved upon to this end. I have completed my task, now all that there is left is a bit of patience and a bit of money changing hands and the collector's edition will be here, in my house, with me playing it happily. And when I am not playing it, I can stare at it and think about its glory and awesomeness. Well

Yarlen, thank you so, so very much for responding. I was almost losing hope. [quote who="Yarlen" reply="31" id="3117001"] Quoting Yarlen, reply #31 There will be a Collector's Edition, though it won't be made available for sale until we know what final pricing will be. There will be a _very_ limited supply of it this time around; since we're not doing retail, we're only making a small batch of them. Once they're gone, they're gone; we won't be mak

I have actually owned one original Sins of a Solar Empire, one Game of the Year Edition, and two copies of Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity and also bought a copy for my friend. So I have owned the games before Sins Rebellion. As for the "exes" thing, I thank you for clearing up that little query. I did notice the separate programs in Trinity, and wondered why they would do this and not just make one program, that being Sins Trinity with all of the content from the original Sins of a So

Thank you, Yottsu. I now just have to find out whether the computer I play Sins on is 64-bit or 32-bit. Would there be any way to take away the limit, like with the zoom restriction in the .dev exe thing?

Thank you for taking that troll off of the forums, Yarlen, and off of this post. So I was correct that Rebellion does include all of Entrenchment and Diplomacy, but it will not contain them in separate chunks. Is this what "exes" means? I am not terribly experienced in the developer and internet lingo and actually just learned what the word "troll" means last week when not referring to the creature or ugly doll. Thank you for replying, Yarlen, but is it confirmed that there wi

I must say, this renders planet noises almost completely pointless because I can no longer zoom in on my planet to hear its noise. I actually liked this part and would prefer if Stardock were to change this so that you can hear noises with the zoom limit.

8 Replies 3,395 Views

I do not have the beta, but could somebody tell me how much exactly the zoom has been limited (like a figure like it used to be 100ft but now 200 or something like that)? I saw this post and think that if changed a lot it could be be annoying but if only at tiny bit of limitation is added from Trinity I suppose it does not matter as much. Thank you, Yarlen, for responding. Why is there a RAM limit on games anyway? I'm sorry if it sounds like I do not know much, but I have seen a l

I just checked the latest interview with RTSGuru, and in it they say that Rebellion will include "all of the features, further enhanced, from previous installments." I would say that this means that Rebellion includes everything from Entrenchment, Diplomacy, and the original Sins.

106 Replies 377,945 Views

Doesn't Rebellion already come with Trinity included? I remember this being mentioned a few times. When I installed Trinity on my computer, it did not ask me to un-install the original Sins, but this would not be a problem in Rebellion since it is already the full package and so you would not need Trinity anymore. I'm not sure what you mean by "extra content". Do you mean the additions made to Sins in Rebellion or something extra in the game that might only be in the c

Okay, I was a bit harsh when I said that they are limiting Sins with Rebellion. They are not. If anything, Rebellion is building Sins to be bigger and better than ever. I do feel that zoom should be something that I can decide and not the limits. If I want to zoom in close and see the not-as-crisp textures to get a more cinematic feel, that should be my choice and I hope I am not denied that in the final release of Rebellion. Even if it makes the game go slower. I don't recall Tri

I don't see why zooming in close in Rebellion would have the effect of crashing the game when I used to zoom in close all the time in Trinity and never had a problem. I agree with Zvarringly and boshimi that some of Sins of a Solar Empire's awesomeness is lost when you can no longer zoom in really close behind a fighter to see it fire at a ship or zoom in really close on an enemy ship to see it get blown up. Or zooming in really close to a pirate planet while my ships are figh

I like this idea. I always found it a little weird having my ships being built and then suddenly appearing out of the shipyard when finished. I agree with Yottsu's point of view, that it should be part of the construction time. So if it took one second for the ship to steer itself out of the shipyard, then take away one second of construction time that it would otherwise spend building and make the moving out of the hangar second of movement part of the construction time.

What? I don't have the beta, but this is definitely a loss. I like hearing the frantic noises of the last bit of planetary life as it is blasted away by my giant red Vasari laser cannons. I cannot really come up with an adjective to describe the noise, but swooshing is good. But I liked it as an atmosphere thing and see no reason to change it as it was fine before and enjoyable when nothing was going on to just look at your planet and hear the noises. Please, Stardock, don

So basically I just go into the folder, pick out the music files (that will be evidenced by their larger size and lack of underscores), copy and paste them into a file converter, convert them into .wav format (I definitely want highest quality even though my CD player is not very fancy), and then burn them onto a CD or multiple CDs if needed. Got it. I thank you (Yottsu and GeoFan77) again for all the help in case the collector's edition does not come with the entire Sins of a Sol

106 Replies 377,945 Views

Wow, thank you for the quick response Yottsu. Will this be the same for Sins Trinity? I haven't pre-ordered Rebellion because I am waiting for the boxed collector's edition to be announced. Furthermore, will the files of the music all be named with numbers like Battle 7 or Upbeat 2 like on Youtube or will they have names like Watching the Borders and A New Call like in your post? Or will they be a mix between them both? Thank you for the help, but I still really hope t
