Been happening to me on and off throughout the beta. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Oh look another one of these threads. Will people PLEASE stop calling things that are not overpowered overpowered and asking for nerfs? At this rate people'll be frustrated that they can't conquer an entire AI empire with one frigate by release...
TEC and Advent both have specialized anti-structure powerhouses. If you're playing as either of them bring 8-10 Ogrovs/Adjudicators and flak to protect from fighters/bombers. Vasari fleets lack a specified building killer, but each ship can take a beating. A strong line of Enforcers with Assailant support can do a lot of damage. Vasari bombers are powerful. Also, getting devious with the Kostura is always a good option.
After researching the Vasari Loyalists' Phase Stabilization tech, I jumped away from an Advent starbase and... still took damage. The tech is supposed to eliminate damage taken from starbase jump destabilization. I have only tested this using the titan (which is sweet, by the way) as of yet. Will test rest of fleet to confirm.
Autocasts fine for me... [e digicons]o_O[/e]
I agree, especially with the fixes. Wouldn't want to see corvettes get nerfed so hard as to become obsolete. I'm not sure about decreasing their speed (maybe a little) as they are supposed to be fast, but they should definitely not be building killers.
Foreign Invasion as well, will update OP.
Well even if it is guaranteed to die, the Eradica can still do a hell of a lot of damage in 60 seconds with 75% faster ability cooldown and 500% AM regen. The Advent have always been about fleet synergies, so even though you lose the titan, you can decimate your enemy's, then rebuild the titan. And while it's true that in multiplayer people may stratigize to minimize the ult's usefulness, the AI is no where near smart enough to do that so it's still gonna be powerful in single
Some maps do not have any phase lanes linking to the star. It seems silly to be able to set the Occupation victory on maps like these as there is no way to get to the occupied planet. I think Occupation victory should either be disabled completely for maps like these, or at the very least have a note saying something to say there is no phase lane to the star so occupation victory will not work. Such maps include: Ancient Gifts and Foreign Invasion. Will update when
Wow that's quite... comprehensive. I do agree that for battleships they seem to lack power relative to carriers. How to improve this will almost certainly take some hammering out but what you have looks great to me. I support this! Also, now I see WHY the Kol isn't super three actives (4 with the ult) is a bit much. Changing adaptive forceshield a passive would be awesome!
Click down the mouse wheel and drag to pan. It's how I get around this. Also, it's been working on and off throughout the beta for me. Some patches it works (Sins captures the mouse on one monitor) and some it doesn't.
This https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/305565 covers all the combat mechanics, including armor/shield mitigation pretty thoroughly, although it was posted shortly after the initial release (March 2008) so for all I know it might be completely wrong.
If they worked on all three races at the same time there likely wouldn't be much of a beta, because the game would be finished. They do releases like this so they have time to work on other races while providing a beta for our enjoyment and to find bugs. Making sure each race works well and is balanced is top priority, and doing staggered releases ensures each race will be better played/tested and keeps us playing to track down and exterminate every last bug. There will be time t
1. You're the only one who can decide, but I'm glad I bought it. The new titans and corvettes change and create new strategies, the new graphical enhancements are absolutely gorgeous and the new music is sweet. That being said, it is still a beta so there are bugs and annoyances. If you play online, be warned that the online waters aren't very populated yet. The new factions add more depth but there are still balancing issues. Vasari aren't here yet but I'm betting on them
I can confirm (or at least reproduce) the screenshot crash. Happens to me every time.
I'd say the best way to 'fix' this would simply be a superweapon off-switch in the game options. Nice and simple, lets those of us who'd rather fight with fleets fight with fleets and those of us who think it's fine the way it is stay happy. Win-win-win situation as I imagine it'd also be pretty straightforward for the devs.
If you're playing TEC and keep getting hit with Novaliths, build planetary shields. Those things, fully upgraded, pretty much make the Nova obsolete.
Just a small graphical bug and I know I've seen a post about it somewhere on here, but the Advent Rebel Titan's shield doesn't fit it properly. Some parts at the front and bottom extend outside the shield bubble. I'd post a screenshot but it crashed when I tried to take one! [e digicons]:|[/e]
Yep same thing here. I swear it used to work...
Pretty much agree with spacepilot. The AI is pretty good and they've fixed a lot of the AI problems from earlier in the beta, but sometimes the AIs are pretty dumb with how they handle their titans. You'll probably have to try several different settings to get a good challenge from the AI. Some modes are a bit wonky (like "Aggressive" goes almost entirely for cap ships). Overall it's good but could be better and they are working on it.
Still, the AI is doing a lot better than it was earlier in the beta with infinite retreat loops. What I find interesting is that sometimes the "Aggressive" AIs aren't as aggressive as other types of AIs because they're so focused on building their cap ships that they don't have frigates to hit you with. Also, is it just me or are the hard AIs sometimes more difficult than unfairs?
Check your options menu and make sure "Use Team Colors" is unchecked
I support this. I think in the Game Options panel there should just be a "Superweapons on/off" toggle.
The star and planet are there in every game, regardless of victory conditions.
Why shouldn't moons have their own gravity wells? Moons do have gravity, much more so than asteroids. Moons' gravity wells should be near planets, but not overlapping, as that would make things confusing as Sunlandic said. Also I'd just like to point out that while it would make sense for moons to be trapped in a planet's gravity well, that would make things unnecessarily complicated, if more realistic. Besides, what solar system is perfectly symmetrical real life
