yea, thats not quite what i had in mind though, from own personal experience from in game voip, it geneally sucks and even if it were decent, a place where others could chat not in game would be nice.. Edit: Not to sound obnoxious towards the games voip, but i find you get more of a community in a teamspeak or ventrilo. Not just because you're in game :p

So since i've been playing, i've always thought back to some online games i've played where either game replays hosts a community server and allows players from respective games to use it. I think it'd be a great way to teach and influence players, create more of a community, let alone allowing more coordinated play in team games. Discuss, ps. i will pay for one depending on interest.
only increase the speed a little bit, not necessarily the straight line, but reduce the turn circle and speed up the turn arc? problem is they just dont get close to carriers, unless you mass them, in which case they will die to lrf/hcs
well thats true, and i agree with that.. the vasari women might sound like jabba the hutts female companion.. but it'd be alright? ;D
still not quick enough for my liking :o
well i never liked the idea of so much smurfing, but these days with steam integration, smurfing isnt really common now. Still.. I wouldnt mind some people coming forward to perhaps help mentor younger players, to increase the upper skill player base, and clans would give people a little more fighting spirit, i have one kid im trying to teach right now, but like i said.. getting the community involved is the first step.
what you need, is my voice.. for say, some of the advent, sure they're mostly women, but there has to be some men.. and i think my voice would be epicsexyness for it. (if youre wondering a soft received pronounciation accent) :$
i still think you're missing the point, the game is designed to be played a certain way, you dont see sonic the hedgehog flying because you want him to, cus thats how you want to play the game. when people complain about things like this its only because they dont grasp how to play the game to the fullest of their own potential, im not about hating on people, but changing the game because the sp community won't learn from playing multiplayer games, the game just shouldnt be ch
i dont think auto target is an issue, most players control the fleet and wont prioritise them anyway since they do such insignificant damage, increase their speed to be able to catch carriers, increase their resistance to fighters and bombers... solved :]
well... if there were enemy scout and trade ships being attacked in the well, then there would be cause to use the shield, so says the coding, which is why autocast abilities suck sometimes, which is why we much all be micro junkies and use them manually for best effect.
people also keep going on about it being early, but really early is anything in the first 20-30mins, any more and you have ample time to either win or get your own, defences or whatever. im against the cap, not that i use more than 4 at a time, but in a mp stalemate, having 7 on hold waiting to kill 2 specific planets or whatever is a really nice thing. But it seems like the sp community could just take some lessons from the mp community in regard
not really, regardless of who plays it, the multiplayer community should come first. you balance things according to human input, but a computer which cheats, likewise you're all crying now the ai and use supers, like i said before in another post it's doing everything you can do.. if you wanna play a city build go back to sim city :/
i think perhaps people are using them the wrong way, think of them as mid to late game use with their abilities, and perhaps increasing their ability to counter flak?
yea, thats my point, the game should wholly be balanced around multiplayer, IF you wanna play singleplayer and do those things, rolling back your updates isn't a problem is it?
well even with a good 4 people in 3 different clans i can see we have the numbers for that, and tbh the win/loss stats shouldnt matter, with the amount of crashes in a game i dont see them really as much of a problem, there are some pretty egotistical players who will only play for wins, but thats just stupid and a high win/loss doesnt always relate to skill level. anyway i wanna have a clan, i like having a clan and i like teamspeak and vent coordination on games such
stop whining, if you need more than 4 or let a game progress to that stage you're playing it wrong, or extremely well against another player, even so there has to be a point when someone loses even without the aid of a super.
supers are super for a reason, leave them be and make your own.
just a quick reply to one of the questions.. You don't have a clear cut fleet model to build with, there are armor types, wep types and weaknesses but we dont work around a perfect fleet, you build what you need, someone spamming cobalts? spam lrfs, heavy cruisers, go bombers and then lrfs, once you get to a certain point a good fleet build generally works with either have 30-60 flaks, 20-40 lrfs 2 caps and 30 corvs, if tec a couple hoshis and iconus for advent
the ais are doing everything you can do, its your own fault youre losing, no one elses
not for the 40 hour comp stompers haha
Also if your friend is going 1000 corvettes, hes bound to lose without a feed against a well rounded player, corvettes sucked if you were able to fend off a first wave with your own and mix in flak and other unit types.
Because they are op lol, flak shouldn't be a counter for lrf.. makes fighters and bombers more viable, nice job on corvs though, not a massive change, but one that might make the worth while, yet not entirely spammed, but at the same time i really felt they were a great option of late game harassment and early game militia sniping
why set passwords? that just help alienate more players. Anyway a suggestion would be for stardock to change tips on load screens encouraging online play, there needs to be a way to mak online play more attractive or gratifying.
To be fair i haven't tried that, but thinking about it, that wouldn't be a bad way to balance it, i think if the foundry was also destroyed then yes, a titan going back to 1 would be a fair compromise
you misunderstand the tec, it adds extra drones to the already made groups, not adding an entire new group. When you add 3/3 fighters to drone defence, you dont only get 3 ships, but 3 groups of ships.. the tec just adds to this.
