[quote who="Polistes" reply="44" id="3110268"]The premade maps bore because they are not LARGE enough, the only "map" I like to play and fits my play style is the huge multi star map with over 150 planets. I like long games with epic space so we can all build up then have wars worthy of the big screen. The only premade map I like is whirlwind since there is enough space to make a large empire and fortify it, while having boarders close enough for interesting "mental dialogue."[/quo

Yea, i've known about this problem for awhile, though from experience in other games we could offer mentoring programs for lower level players, people resort to comp stomping and lanning due to lack of knowledge and we can blame our own player base for it too, majority of onliners are assholes at best and will kick noobs from games. I know why because it can suck when you wait for a 5's and then a noob changes the entire balance, but lets be fair, if we got people signed up for mentor
i think at this point you have to start micro'ing yourself, this game takes alot of the stress away, but if you remove much else it might as well be a sci fi movie, you can't expect the devs to code abilities and then set priorities as well as situation and health related triggers, if you're attacking a starbase what are you doing, do you jump in the grav well, set attack and sit back and watch? Guaranteed there are other ships you could use abilities on that would reduc
you can still beat a titan, they are not invincible..
Ima buy it whatever happens, even if i dont get it straight away, im sure someone will double up on ebay.. id still buy o_0
Love to see this happen :]
simply turn off pirates if you dont plan to finish a game quickly, 10 hour is a ridiculous amount of time to be playing, and when you send pirates to other factions, such as tec rebel with truce amongst rogues, its a waste of money on your part, and they'll just defend the grav well, gotta think who to really target these days, else you're only helping someone :]
Alright, so in many games i've played competitively clans were around, in sins i'd love to see more of a competitive twist coming about, perhaps making a clan would be more appealing or atleast worth the effort if there was a way to track a clan war? or a ranking system? Even if it was one player made, i dunno if its around these days, but clanwars.cc was always a good one before ea started their own system. Likewise we could a
i dont really see it being a problem, the time it takes to build one and let alone move it to where it needs to go, if you lose it once and dont have an adequate line to hold, you'll lose anyway so being able to get your titan back doesnt make much of a difference unless you get help or your titan bay is wayyyyy back. As the way things are i think its fine, im guessing it's just another group of players not doing what they should in certain situations..&nb
Once again i'm reading threads about balance issues which aren't issues, If you allow this to happen you deserve to lose anyway. Lets face it loyalist are a turtling faction for tec and it shows in most thing they need 7 mili labs and to get that a fair expansion too, shouldn't someone be hampering this? Slowing him down, pushing him back.. forcing culture down his neck, sniping with corvettes in back worlds? pushing with siege and anti structures, likewise
I do this from time to time in multiplayer for the lulz
I cant really be bothered to read all of this, but how can a starbase lose to pirates? Even with the most severe threat, and this takes awhile to get to, a good 5-6 raids? which is around an hour? they have maybe 20heavys and it whittles from there, so how could a 3 hull/ 2-3 wep and other functions with full research lose? It can't pirates are way too easy, people should only entice people to use money on bounty, generally you benefit from being a target, unl
ya know its still a bloody beta. Be happy you can even play it right now, and lets be fair.. vasari are probably nearly finished and cosmetic and bug fixes are what they are doing, no one plays their best hand too early, else what would be the point in a beta? vasari are probably gonna be released late, just because.. and who cares too many people loved vasari due to being op, and as for balancing, its not really an issue since they can easily balance tec and advent, sure the balancing will b
play online, 5 hours is a long time to be playing against a normal ai, not trying to stamp out your fire, but acting like thats it and such, theres more to the game, you may be good but if it takes you 5 hours, then all you need to work on is speed.. and online games as mentioned are generally the fastest, or the longest depending on stalemates
to be fair.. corvettes are beaten really easily.. just match corvs early on, after 2 planets you can star to mix flak in.. after awhile spam flak, takes care of any corv spam with ease. It really is that simple, people are moaning so much about corvettes when they are actually quite weak, but still very useful. So you too need to use them at some point, you cant choose a style of play because balance dictates in any game to play a certain way to win. In other rts&
to be fair i think titans are fine as they are, i dont see most titans coming out until 15-20mins, and thats in a feeder position. A winger can't do it, even if he wins a rush. If you however rush a titan you're going to lose the actual fight in a 1 on 1 situation, and its also very true the titan is easily countered without a good suppose fleet, so you then have to take the time to consider fleet make up, and if you've won the rush and pushing forward, i makes more
i just think they need to increase the cost, if everyone embraces the corvettes uses, then its not a problem, but either people don't understand it or don't want to.
