I really enjoyed Civ IV, but I think I'm having more fun now that I'm playing Civ V with my girlfriend. Civ V is easier to get into than Civ IV

So I'm looking for a new graphic card for a budget gaming pc an would like to stay under $200. It would seem that my best two options are either the GTX 560 or the 6870. Both are about the same price at 189 on Amazon.com (newegg is around the same). And from all the research I've done, it seems like these two cards perform very similarly when it comes to benchmarks. In fact, the only noticable difference I've found is that one takes up a little less power. Since I've n
this thread reminds me of that stargate episode where the SG1 is in mid space against a fleet of ori battleships and they get shot by a laser beam burst and they activate a time dilation field device and everything goes SLOOOOOOWWWWWLLLLYYYYY for the beam and ori ships and they try to figure out a solution in the time they gain from doing that
That was the finale, and now you made me sad. I miss that show... HEY! You should
Well I'm hardly an expert as I'm just getting back into the flow of Sins from a bit of a hiatus. But it seems like the greatest deterrent to playing them is how slow the Advent are to start up. I remember the Illuminators being pretty badass, but since they got nerfed I haven't seen a whole lot of love for them throughout the forums. I guess for the Advent to see any real play time, there early game is going to have to get some tweaks/buff done to it. The Advent seem to hi

A discussion on the content of the Q&A is going on somewhere around here. Edit: Found it! <a href="https
Most definitely; in fact there are four new game modes (i.e., victory conditions) plus a revised Diplomatic Victory mode. The new modes include Last Flagship Standing, Last Capital Planet Standing, Research Victory and Occupation Victory. These can be toggled on/off during game setup.
When I was going over mods, I recall something about Flagships. Perhas the Last Flagship Standing is homage to that? Probably not,bu
Sounds a bit too Starcraft-esque for me, I kind of like the idea of the unknown enemy never being revealed. And diplomacy between the races doesn't seem very Sins-like either.
But what about Sins: Diplomacy?
You know, I skimmed through this topic and all I was reminded of was those stupid Ferengi in Armada II running off with my ships, just because they were stupid to go through an irradiated nebula. Stupid Ferengi...
Man, what's wrong with you? I'm just stating the fact that the developers are not doing a campaign for Rebellion. It has nothing to do with maturity levels (which you seem to be lacking in). So many of your posts seem to be made for the sole purpose of insulting others. And I never said I'm against a campaign - in fact, I think it would be a great way to guide newer players along the more basic elements of strategy. It&

I'd hate to have the last game to be forced out just to make a few bucks befor it was ready. *Looks squarely at you BF3*
You don't want to trrust Metarcitic on games like this. 10% of the haters will be people hating because it isn't exactly what WoW is, and 10% are sandbox MMO fans who will always be upset that a game is too much like a theme park just like WoW.
So passive-aggressive pressure game? Yeah, that's totally different. Novaliths can definitely be used as a coup-de-grace in that case, but there are lots of great tools at your disposal for achieving the same thing. Knocking on their door with a force of 20 light carriers all loaded with bombers would be just as devastating.
A post over on the topic that went from talking about novaliths to turtling
Bannded because you have no bladder. And nothing makes me sadder than an agent who lost his bladder... on the airplane
I suppose I didn't quite make clear what I meant by "turtling". It's not true turtling in the sense you build up defenses around your planet and sit there. I would call it more aggressive turtling, in that you push out and colonize a planet close to their home system, preferrably at a choke point system and then backfill the other colonies while building that planet, as your fortress world. And I wasn't talking about rushing Novalith, but more building an nice big
So that kind of gives us a scale to work with. If you have your tactical grid turned on in the game, each square is 4000 by 4000 for ranging purposes. So if you had an ability with a 2000 range, parking that unit in the middle of the box would show you that it's range just barely touches the edges. I suppose you could say that each grid square is a kilometer and each unit is a quarter meter to get things to size up with t
I haven't gotten it, but this game along with Sins was high on my list to play on my new comp. I am curious however, as I see metacritic is averaging reviews in the mid 80's, any complaints on the game from those playing?
(I heard it got nerfed though hard since I lost played Sins though ). Did it? I didn't hear about it. As it is, a Sova's Embargo plus LRM rush can easily take down an unprepared opponent in a cramped map... I would give you karma, but I'm lactose intolerant.
This is a great victory! Or at least I will assume it is. I remember seeing the Angry Brit ranting on about this, but a lot of seemed like "worse case scenario" stuff. However, I'm never a fan of giving any government more power, so Power to the People and keep up the good fight!
