[quote who="DarthLeader" reply="19" id="3213627"] Armor vs attack vs shield upgrades: which ones do you prefer? I looks to me like armor is better than attack upgrade (for example +5% attack on certain ships vs +1 armor, which might mean +20% armor, on all ships). I don’t really know how shields place themselves here. Also, I guess that in big battles, only a few ships are getting fired at while all ships are effectively firing, so that would place attack upgrade higher than armor

So I was looking over the Culture related gameplay constants hoping for some new insight on the fundamental issues with culture and a question occurred to me. I'd just like to see Deliverance engine disable culture buildings at the targeted gravity well and have a 50-100% faster projectile speed(it can sometimes be rather hard to time considering one of it's main effects is a fleetwide damage buff which needs to arrive at a battle near the start of the confrontation to really be useful). Heck even a 100% penalty to enemy culture production in the targeted well may do the job(rather then a full disable). But the fundamental i

Honestly even just implementing this idea for even Light frigates alone would make a huge difference IMO. If light frigates had any reasonable amount of survivability late game we'd have a small but fully functional set of Frigate counters in the late game: LF>carriers(fielding bombers)>HC>LF...... and so on perhaps dropping LF damage taken from abilities to 50% or so should make them plenty resilient to AoE In this fashion&

Also little remarked on change: Disruption Matrix hitting titans. Do you guys think the ability disable will work even on titans since Matrix is it's self a titan ability? Would certainly add a bit more wow-factor to the Ankylon.

I'm a bit sketical. The time it take allegiance to actually increase is as much of an issue for culture's benefits as the spread time. Not to mention that in the big scheme of things it really doesn't take all that long for culture tos pread through your territory with zero culture upgrade techs. But let's do a cost benefit analysis: With confluence culture spread 60% faster, which means it takes 62.5% as long for culture to reach eac

Personally I'd like to see titan's have their vulnerable infancy period extended as well as the risks of building a titan increased; perhaps something like: -Increase exp needed to reach each level on titans by 50-60% -Increase exp granted for killing enemy titans by 50-60% That way rushing a titan will carry some risk, as the guy who's fleeting up with frigates has a fair chance of killing the titan before it reaches level 2 or 3. &nbs

[quote who="RiddleKing" reply="77" id="3210983"] Quoting bilun, reply 76Honestly though, the real reason the Advent have so much trouble with phase missiles is they lack any widely available hull repair abilities. Low armor & hull contribute too, but the biggest problem is they are mostly stuck with every hull damage they suffer(by contrast other factions getting 30/hull a sec or more outsustains a decent portion of incoming phase missile damage). To be as capable at dealing with pha

Each race would have 5+ different types with different fleet capabilities to really mix things up. More varia

For example, if each one of these teams were in the eco spot, this is most likely what they would do: TEC R: Novalith and Titan TEC L: Novalith and Dual SB Advent L: Titan Advent R: Titan and Wail Vasari L: Titan and Strip Vasari R: Mobile SB

People played with VR for awhile- the result was pretty much always the same: If the VR is in the eco slot, the other team loses, as with little pressure the VR can starting pumping out a fleet of starbases without ever having to increase upkeep. If the VR is anywhere else they still have a massive advantage on everyone else. VR are banned for a reason- hopefully the enxt patch will make them reasonable enough to unban.

Not so sure I like that as it could skew your targeting priorities :- You could spam exp by capturing low value targets (scouts/colony/light frigates & corvettes :- worth less or same) & destroying high value ones (heavy/carrier cruisers which are worth more). Some good ideas in here. Another thing I'd like to see is for the TEC loyals to be given *Some* offensive capability- they are the premier defensive faction, but let's face it: you need to attack to win. To keep in flavor I think any such buffs should focus on boosting Border conflicts or mounting counteroffensives on enemies that attack you first. Perhaps something like: Counter Deployment: In addition to current effects, when the last ene
