There are a lot of useful threads or youtube casts for beginners. But i still think the game needs a solid tutrial for beginners and advanced.

The best defense is; the strongest and the cheapest i guess. The AI chooses the most efficent defense type if the tech levels are the same.
I totally agree.
marigoldran I agree with you. And i did it with custom races. I read your "colonization" guide. But i must ask, is it possible with vanilla races?!?
As for a former SoaSE:Rebellion player, I would like to see some new things in GalCivIII. -Mobile starports, Like Vasari has. After some loooooong researh we can transport our starport (military starports) moving. Can move 2 or 3 tiler per turn. Can only attack ships, starports and shipyards. Can not attack planets. -Titans, like in Rebellion. Huge ships that covers 2 or 4 tiles. -A market would be good. Only trade minerals, no t
@ marigoldran I build hives mostly the first building of my colonies. And yes i got the Hyperion Matrix and the Gaia Vortex. I think i am on the right direction? Now i am heedeing for war, building carriers and big ships while trying to balance Diplomatic research. @<a id="ctl00_ctl00__Content__Content__RepeaterReplie
Yor can be tough being so different than other races and going through a cyclical balancing act of hibernation followed by explosive growth can throw a wrench and panicked desperate scramble if certain things like meeting the wrong races at the wrong times happen. Thalan are pretty good if you make use of their hives [/qu
@ Franco fx AND @ marigoldran Thank you for your tips. I never played with Thalan, but i will try ASAP. @<a id="ctl00_ctl00__Content__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl01__LinkUser" class="hand" title="Click user nam
Hi, i have been playing since 1 month or more. I am a casual player eager to learn the basics and i want to beat godlike one day. I can beat normal easily. But ı try 5 or 6 games at gifted difficulty and everytime i fail. Actually i didnt play to the end but it is obvious that i will lose. The thing is, i try with diffirent races with diffirent strategies. I tried with custom race quick coloniation, i was ahead of AI at population and ifluence but i lack military, economy and other st
I am looking for a tech tree map as a pdf or jpeg file. I can not see the whole tech tree ingame and i cannot decide where to go. It would be useful to see the big picture i think.
I did my homework and i won a Influence victory yesterday. (Game rules: Standart map, 3 enemies with minor races, normal difficulty, custom race) I did not stick the strategy strictly but i did manage to get as much colony as i can in the beginning of the game. After some point i have the %60 of the map, then expansion is little bit slower. So i decided to research some military stuff and go for war. After some succesful invasions i managed to win. It is kind of easy in
@Gauntlet03 Thanks, yes it is durantium. So you say i can build a decent army without these resources. I will try. One more thing. I build a trade ship (whatever its name) but i do not know what to do with it. Is it automated for trade.
Hello fellow players; I've been playing GalCiv III for 2-3 days. I played SOASE, Civ series, Beyond Earth. I am kind of familiar to the genre. But as the topic says i am kind of lost in this game. But thanks to replies, i started to improve my game and enjoy it. I still dont know what i am doing. I just spammed colony and cons. ships at the beginning and i manage to grab more than half of the map. (i am playing normal difficulty in a small map with 3 opponents btw)
I saw your friend request an accepted. Umm, i played dressed is that a problem ? [e digicons][/e]
Is there an official Steam group. So posting or chatting for game parties at the group is more suitable i guess.
As a new player myself i agree with rezsavak, i like the game and i want to play it online but its too hard to find a game to practice my skill, either because it takes too long to get one going or i get booted because of my skill level.
I am a beginner too. Add me from steam if u want to play online. I prefer especially 2v2 and i look for teammates. steam id:thedreamon
This thread must be sticky. And if i may request that could you write your comments abaut Advent CapShips as you write TEC before. It was very useful for me. I % 90 start with KOL. Now i start with Akkan or Sova. Thnx.
Thanks Ekko.It seems i am not as bad as i thought. But i have so much to learn anyway. Actually i dont watch for my scouts. I made them autoscout and forget. So i didn't see the chokepoint. I dont have map control much. I should work on that. If u had time i would like to play a match or two with you.
OK. Here is my MP replay. http://www.2shared.com/file/vKR5H15x/multi_2.html I played not bad but i stay passive. At this time my teammate swapped one enemy. And when i build forces to sweep the enemy it is GG. I would appriciate if u comment my replay. Thanx. [e digicons][/e]
OK i will post my next MP match. Actually i do not lost all the matches i play. (By the way i dont play as much at most 10 MP) And my economy is not so bad. But as you mentioned i never micro my battles. So i usually lost most of my ships if i dont overnumber them. Thats the porblem i guess. Whatever, i will post my replay soon and you may say whats wrong. By the way i want to play a multiplayer match with you Ekko_Tek. I will be in game at 08:00 GMT+3 today.<
I need some advice abaut late and mid-game ship composition. I know it depends to what your enemies building. But at least you may say what counters what. I start with LF and then i start to build corvettes. So at the early game stage i got at least 15-20 LF and 20-25 Corvettes. Then i start to build Flak Ships to defend against enemy corvettes and carriers. After, i spam carriers. Lots of carriers that a could afford. By the time i continously build LF,corvettes and Flaks. Thanks Ryat. U r very helpful. I would like to play online with u sometime , learn from ur experiences.
Thanks. Do you suggest Rebels or Loyalists for a beginner. As Vasari i mean.
OK. Thats what i plan to do... One more thing, as Vasari i alvays lack cyristals. I got pletny of metal and fair enough money, but never enough cyristals. Do i have to buy it from the black market? Or do u suggest something else.
