You only level Capitals and those can be moved to a gravity well of your choosing. So no need to send them to one of YOUR planets.

Thanks for the info. Funny enough I find the best "defense" against pirates are a couple of Trade Ports. With all the pirate ships busy chasing the trade ships they never really pose a threat. Without this distraction though they kind of focus more, making them much more dangerous.
Ah. Then I do not really understand the sentence: " The size of the pirate fleet you can buy depends on the severity of the pirate threat." That would mean the size of the fleet depends on the size of the fleet. Ahh. Well. So there is actually no way to influence this?! The more into the endgame I are the bigger the pirate attacks and the bigger the pirate mission I can buy. Is that it?
@Arthain: What exactly is " severity of the pirate threat"? The amount of time left before a pirate wave? @Greg30007: Any ideas what they are modifying?
[quote who="Pen1993" reply="9" id="3178432"]Against HCs, bombers are probably the best bet...but RiddleKing's may be right, it might be too late for that... And in regards to the fleet supply issue, because the devs have said no for four years. But seriously, games would take forever if it worked like that because a player's income would skyrocket if he lost his fleet. And from an in-universe perspective, just because the ships are destroyed doesn't mean you don't s
To be honest that is quite counterintuitive if you ask me. For a trade network the overall number of trade ports should be the main factor, not some longest, shortest! route. I wonder why they decided to make this "trade post posting" such a complicated minigame. [e digicons]
You mean something like the Percheron Light Carriers? That would be some 130 Squadrons of bombers. Sounds like a crowded map. ;-) I'll try it next time. Thanks.

I noticed. ;-) Many thanks for your ideas. I played TEC as well. The 10 bomber squadrons I had had no visible effect on the strike force. I missed the use of the "red button" by a fraction of a second, so I never saw the possible result of blowing up a Starbase. Any other strat
I played a friendly game last night with a pal against the AI and later we declared war and tried a confrontation between about 100 Kodiak Heavy Cruisers and a strong TEC-fleet around a Titan, about 7 or 8 Capital ships and numerous smaller ships (late game, lots of tech upgrades) supported by a couple of repair platforms and turrets. It was a complete desaster, resulting in the loss of basically all ships. We repeated this with a str
