Not just Open With. "Share With" menu is empty. Or if I add custom command like "Move To"/"Copy To" in cascading menu, it is also empty. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\Windows.MoveToMenu] "ExplorerCommandHandler"="{F60C3E02-214A-462b-9B07-56EA38545A13}" "CommandStateSync"="" "Icon"="imageres.dll,-5303" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\folder\shell\Windows.MoveToMenu] "ExplorerCommandHandler"="{F60C3E02-214A-462b-9B07-56EA38545A13}
The new UI is slick.
These appear to be screenshots of the free Classic Shell. Why not just use it?
Just out of curiosity, what technology in Windows does Acoustic Bridge bridge depend upon that it requires at least Vista? Is some technology part of Windows Rally? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Rally ) and if yes, which technologies does it use? :) If somehow it supported XP, the usefulness would be much greater.
I would like to know this and this should be done if it's not being done. Even if desktop is showing and monitor turns off, DeskScapes should pause. Anyone will clarify please?
I bought DeskScapes in November and I have a feature request. Can Stardock make DeskScapes play the video only when the desktop is fully shown and all windows are minimized (or when doing Aero Peek) but not play the video at all if only a part of the desktop background is showing? A checkbox option like "Play only when all windows are minimized". I know Deskscapes automatically stops playing the video when a window is maximized, but I don't want the video to play even if part of the deskt
That's the way Windows 8 places it. You can move it into one folder.
@John_Peterson1 this is already added. Start8's newest version works on both monitors.
No, I am using English but items with exclamation mark show with empty space in MFU list. Here is the thread where I posted it: https://forums.stardock.com/436409 At that time we were unable to figure out what causes it. Now you have figured it out, exclamation marks in the name cause it. :D
Oh this was the bug I pointed out in the case of 'Plus! Alarm Clock' which also showed an empty icon in the MFU list.
Here's an idea: The menu shown when right clicking the Start button could be combined with the Win+X menu. StartIsBack does that.
No problem. I will try to get this issue solved via Microsoft. They can modify Windows to make DeskScapes 3 compatible. :)
I want to grab Acoustic Bridge. :D
I got DeskScapes just few weeks ago and then discovered it doesn't work with Windows 8. Is there some kind of upgrade offer/guarantee like Microsoft does for a version purchased just before release of a new version?
Does the Most Frequently Used list also factor in the MFU Metro apps? Is there a way to auto-track which are the most MFU Metro apps and also show them in that list? Windows doesn't track those obviously, it only tracks desktop apps but I wondered if Start8 could mix Windows' list with its own tracking of MFU Metro Apps. Btw just out of curiosity, is Start8 written in Delphi or in C++?
Sounds like a good challenge, for Start8. Taskbar is also a launcher like Start Menu is. :)
But how do third party utilities like DisplayFusion Pro achieve this for their taskbar? Apps started from their secondary taskbar always appear on the same window as the taskbar. :)
Use Skip Metro Suite by Winaero. It allows selectively disabling hot corners.
How to make programs launched from Start8 on monitor X open always on monitor X only? This is must-have feature.
That's nice to know how Start8 improves over the Start menu design of Windows 7. Is there a pinned post/list somewhere that shows users it's improvements only over the Windows 7 menu? Btw, it looks like "NoStartPage" broke in Windows 7 itself!! But it works in Vista. The buggers broke the ability to blacklist certain apps from MFU in Windows 7!!
@the OP, it's supposed to be a Frequently Used Programs list, not Recently Used. Also, programs are tracked by Windows from everywhere, not just the ones opened from the Start Menu. For programs which run constantly (such as those which load at startup), Windows increments their run count by 1 per day. You can add a "NoStartPage" value as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284198 for the program you don't wish
I purchased DeskScapes TODAY as in November 30th and found out it doesn't work on Windows 8! I expect Stardock to provide a compatibility update for Windows 8 users. I do not wish to pay again for DeskScapes 4 just few months from now when I purchased it RIGHT NOW. :) Stardock can put new features in DeskScapes 4 if they want and charge for them but I expect a Windows 8 compatible version of the one I purchased after Windows 8 has RTMed.
While KeepSafe was excellent for XP, and it remained unfortunately 32-bit only, Windows 8 has removed Previous Versions and replaced it with a crappy "File History" that does not save only the diffs, and supports only files from LIBARIES making it BLOATED and useless. I want a tool like KeepSafe that saves only the diffs for my 64-bit Windows 8. So maybe Stardock can update this gem for 64-bit Windows XP/Vista/7/8? And yes, I need support for 64-bit applications like Notepad
It restarts most when I type the word "Windows".
