Yes I want this too. Windows 7/Vista searched basically searched the MAPI store - so emails from "Windows Mail" or Outlook were returned. Also, it looks like Control Panel keywords are not searched, just the God Mode folder is searched. For example, type UAC in Windows 7 Start Menu and see. Now type the same in Start8. Does Start8 support the full Windows Search Advanced Query Syntax like the original Start Menu did?
No I am not talking about loading from HD speed. I am talking about this repainting in parts issue. Windows Start menu paints the parts much faster for me with the same search terms than Start8. Even if I search with the same term again (in which case HD speed would affect it less), it paints slowly. And when I searched for the term "Windows" only the Programs part got shown and suddenly Start8 stops responsing, Explorer crashed before other parts got shown.
Why is Start8's screen drawing performance so slow? What technology does it use? GDI? GDI+? Since you target only Windows 8 and later, why not use Direct2D which is further improved in Windows 8? Stardock should have made that design decision right at the start. Start8 is too slow to populate the MFU list or search results compared to native Windows 7 Start menu.

Yes it's the same icon/app every time. And it appears to be a regular ordinary shortcut, not even an MSI/advertised shortcut.
Is the Start8 list of programs the Most Frequently Used list (Windows' UserAssist decrypted) or is it a list of Most Recently Used programs? It works well for the most part, but occasionally for some program, the file name doesn't show up. For example, I have this Alarm Clock program installed from Microsoft's Plus! I have the same problem. I don't have a right Windows key. I want Shift+Windows key to show Windows 8 Start menu instead of right Windows key.

Even Windows 8 Start screen shows items from the Start menu folder. It's just outside "All Programs", where did you read that it's deprecated?
You are mistaken. Everything is not forcibly terminated. Applications are sent a "System is shutting down so close yourself" signal. Applications can tell Windows "Hey I have unsaved data" and Windows gives those apps a certain number of seconds to close and delay shutdown/restart and even allows the user to cancel the Shutdown. Forced terminate of any program can cause loss of unsaved data or corruption.

How about the built-in Reset and Refresh scenario? If I do a Reset or Refresh of Windows 8 and I have start8sig2267.bin backed up, I should not have to re-activate over the internet. Is this supported/possible?
Yes it works nicely on Release Preview. Only thing is the hot corners aren't correctly suppressed. I mean they are but Close button, Aero Peek, top left corners of desktop apps also stop working.
Isn't the Windows Logo a Microsoft trademark? This page mentions: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/news/ImageGallery/logos/logoguidelines.aspx third parties should not ship the Windows Logo with their product (which is used for the Start8 orb).
Yes the search responsiveness is now great in 1.0 Trial.
But it's still not prioritized like Classic Shell. If I search for WordPad and start it two times, it should show up on top and not Word.
