God this thread off the rails......... Anyway....is the game still in production? So it can be released/deleted the day of court victory/loss? And cause i have a life to lead, what was the reason the original creators didn't come on board as producers/designers ?
It seems some of Stardock's wrath should be directed towards Atari which sold them an IP that still had a lien on it. When you buy a car you make sure the title is clear.
Between Stardock's cost of acquisition of the title, cost of development and lawyer fee's, this game better sell a ton. I wonder if Brad had a crystal ball would he have bothered.......?
Stupid question.... Your RAM doesn't need to be plugged in... ....either does you CPU(just its cooler) and the new M2 drives get juice from the board. So why the need for GPU separate cables, etc..? I know GPU's use more juice, but could'nt the board just feed it more through the board? Imagine building a machine and all it needs cable wise would be the main cable from the PSU to the motherboard.
Just skimming here..... Did the two previous developers not want to be part of the Stardock team when you guys bought the name ? That would have seemed like the perfect combo...... btw :I played this game on my Genesis back in the day..wouldn't seem to have enough strategy for this old man now..... I did enjoy the spinning star systems though.... Would be more of a Starflight guy now..... (hey Brad that series available)?
Thanks Goa ...... Your the best. [e digicons]1*[/e]
What would be a way to add some more strategic depth to a Sins 2 without overburdening the light 4x/rts feel we a know and love? My idea would be to add a third element(water?) that needs to be captured and maintained.. ...... and is very rare and fought over? Maybe one or two planets per map that have this third element that need to be treated as a capture the flag type game play. If you dont have it... - population? -ship
If I wanted to change the frequency between pirate raids would I change the: Gameplay: Pirate raid Def: Pirate quest cool down: from 300 to ----> 1200? And what does Min send raid: Max send raid: Do? And if I change these files in a mods folder does that change just the mod or do I need to change these files in Sins main folder? Thanks in advance..... [e digicons]:digichet:[/e] </
Hey..Just noticed my LCD screen doesnt show info. Is it cause I'm running a mod or did you guys pull the Sins app on this keyboards LCD?
We will not see a Sins2 until StarControl is released and done selling, Stardock/Ironclad would not want the two of them competing for market space. So figure late 2018 at the earliest.
The question SHOULD be why is the next Sins going to be released 10+ years after the original? Yes I know.. I own the DLC's, but a sequel is at most a five year turn around, why the incredible time between 1 and 2?

Answered my own question... http://www.moddb.com/mods/dawn-of-victory
What was the name of that mod that was Sins based and had a German Nazi/Russian feel to it that looked to good to be true and was cause it was never finished? And why did it fail? Anyone remember? It was about four years ago......
The Troll in me wonders what Ironclad has been doing the last couple of years..? I know SOADA was their primary focus, but when your sitting on a cash cow that is SOSE how do you let it become ten years old with just add-ons? Most games have even with small studios a five year turn around. And Stardock is almost choking the market themselves with space themed games while they wait for Ironclad to come back to the table.. Which will be releas
I'll also say that bigger isn't always better. I think the scale of Sins is about right, more meaningful small battles with strategy and frigates that level up would be great. Titans are nice, but since their introduction race to build them has ruined the natural flow of Sins battle ramp up.
Ironclad and Stardock are listening. [e digicons]:)[/e]
I would hope they are at least a year into development, most planning done, not quite ready to announce anything. I am sure Stardock does not want Sins 2 and StarControl to compete with each other, and since(my guess) SC is MUCH further along.......... we will see Sins 2 4th quarter of its 10th anniversary winter of 2018. Fingers crossed.
Any new Sins is good, but to be honest we need a full fledged sequel. Any time spent on Sins1 is not getting us to Sins 2..... [e digicons]:waaaa:[/e]

Just tired that corporate America (CBS) has to make it another pay service not on regular free tv. Its going to get to a point where every channel you want will have to be paid for....

Just off top of my head..... Grav wells should be larger. Manually dock strike craft has a strategic reason. Take a Que from Mods let Titans be chosen. (More than one) Maybe allow frigates to level up......
