All right. I upgraded from what stardok said was Beta 0.90[b].012 to Beta 0.81.006 and after 11.89 MB file was downloaded and extraxted and GC II was updated Stardock listed that 0.90[b].012 is now available. I started downloading althoug it look strange that this new upgrade file has the same size of 11.89 MB. Shortly after the downloading of the list of the files started I got the message that downloading and upgrading was finished although no files were realy downloaded, and that now insta

I just discovered that I'm running Beta 80 and not Beta 81. And on stardock it says that I have installed Beta 0.90[b].012 and that Beta 0.81.006 is available? What's the deal?

1. In Research Complete screen thwe rotating frame of the weapons technology accompanied information that I just researched xenofarming. 2. United Planets Council screen appeared without a pop-up warning one turn before. 3. After I was awarded a habitable planet and found it I discovered that none of 8 useable tiles were used. No starbase, no starport - nothing. Yet Planet was building collony ship and after 15 turns I was able to lounch it, still without building starport

1. In Build ship/Ship Types window an basic support module appeared instead of colony ship. When I clicked on it the shipyard started building colony ship. 2. In several ocassions when other races tried to get some money from me insted of amount shown as number I'd get '[cash value]'

OK. I opened new subdirectory in c:\....\my documents\my games and moved there entire galciv2 directory so that the path was: c:\....\my documents\my games\test\galciv2 and I started the game. It worked but when i checked the my games subdirectory I found galciv2 both there and one level down, in test subdirectory. I mean I have now: c:\....\my documents\my games\galciv2 and c:\....\my documents\my games\test\galciv2 Is that what you want ed

Heh, as I said the game plays OK on my desktop but the tactical screen was zoomed in to the maximum. I didn't know (and I still don't) how to zoom out without mouse so I went to the interface menu and lowered tactical view zoom level to 7% and turned grid on. Then something funny happened. My ships, anomalies and all planets except the homeplanet became small and represented with their icons (which I expected) but home star and home planet became humongous and remained represented as full shape

Lots of nervous people last night around here. Good that Stardock people are not mean and vindictive, otherwise some of us would remain citizens for the rest of our lives. Well, maybe they are just a little bit mean, I yet have to check if the flagships still do not upgrade and if the rounding of the percentage of random planet improvements is the same (plain mean) old. Now, about the crashes. It might be NVIDIA but not any N

Okay, to see if it has to do with compiler optimization try this: 1) Download this file: Link 2) Unzip the two files inside of it to your GalCiv directory to replace galciv2.exe and lib3d.dll 3) Load it up. Did it fix the problem? If so, then rats, it's compiler optimizations. If no, we'll have to think of something else. </TD

Minors constructor seems to have an ulimited range: I reported the same/similar thing for Minor colony ships. I noticed that in both 4C and 4D builds. For 0.80 (4E?) I can't say. It crashes the moment I start it.

I again noticed an endless stream of minor civilization colony ships, again not concerned with range limits and nearby habitable planets. I then decided to look closer into it. When I found their home star first surprise was that all those ships were neglecting one quality 19 and one quality 18 planet in their (Alexians) own home system. When I checked their home planet second surprise explained their pickyness. The home planet was quality 26. Question: In the next build can we have option to

anomoly bug: The "+2 DEFENSE" reward anomoly doesn't actually give your ship anything Ah Citizen Proud Canadian! You are putting salt in my wound. Same goes with +1 WEAPONS. But if you mention this bug few times more we might bore game designers into fixing this one in next beta build. Something tells me that they do that if there are 10 or more complaints. BTW How to use quoting? I pressed 'quote' button and in

I played my first game with minor races on and interesting thing happened. Almost from the very begining of the game ships of one of the minor races start crossing my galactic space paying not much attention neither to perfectly habitable planets (PQ =11, 13) nor to the range limitations. They would jump out of the fog of war and enter 'my' space on one end and, undistrubed by habitable planets they would pass by, get lost in the fog of war on the other end. Bug or, maybe, Great Exodus scenar

Yes Popup Target, something is definitely going on. I was changing some of my race abilities (and saving the changes) when I noticed that instead of Technologist I became Federalist without messing with political part of race abilities at all. Also, again not quite a bug but…In the description for Iconians it says: The Iconians were the creators of the Yor. They are highly inventive and proud race, they consider themselves heirs to the Dreadlords. And then in sum

Not a bug, just thought about planet quality bonus. I did some checking yesterday and it seems to me that, due to the way the planet quality bonus is calculated, this bonus ability is extremely overrated. If you go with 7% planet quality bonus you give up 80% of your bonus points and what do you get beck? Not much because of the way the Galcivs (both 1 and 2) do the rounding, i.e. 1.9 gain in quality is rounded to 1 (and consequently, in Galcivs, 1.1 loss is rounded to 2, mean, mean stuff). This

Hi Noghanimus, I read that text and I remember that he was mentioning some peculiarities but I thought that ones I mentioned might be unintentional. First three mass driver techs all have cost = 30 and damage = 2 and all the singularity drivers have cost =40 and damage =3. And then you have mass driver IV with the cost =120 and damage=4. And mass driver IV sits at the bottom of the list of available modules not following the alphabetical order. And there is that suspicious absence of

More bugs: 1. At some point in the game I noticed that Mass Driver IV was smaller and would inflict more damage than Singularity Driver II. Towards the end of the game I checked again and found this in the list of available weapons modules: Singularity driver IV: size 7, cost 40, damage 3, Mass Driver IV: size 7, cost 120, damage 4, Mas Driver III: size 9, cost 30, damage 2. Funny thing is that I couldn’t find Mass Driver IV in the technology tree but,
