I just saw this on GI. It's the Civ V team combined with Frogboy! That's insanely awesome!

I saw the Oxide announcement ( http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2013/10/23/industry-veterans-form-oxide-games-prepare-new-cross-platform-engine.aspx ) on Game Informer and noticed this: Oxide Games was founded by a team of industry veterans. They are: Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock Dan Baker, <span s
Thanks for this.
Could you describe your setup?
Dear Ironclad, Thank you for making Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1. Let me count the ways. #1 Sins of a Solar Empire v1.1 is the first time I've been able to host and play on line reliabily without spending time with my router. Great job there. This now makes Sins the only PC game that I can play multiplayer on. Maybe I have a goofy rouer set up. I don't know. But now I have ONE game I can play online. #2 The graphics are sweet and the speed it better.
You know things have gone off the deep end when people are implying that entering in your UserID and password is the same as DRM.
Okay that's it. I've been an nVidia fan boy for awhile but I think it's time to get an ATI. This looks totally hot.
shouldnt stardock pay for that flashdrive? i mean, it shouldnt be the problem of people without internet.. it should be stardocks's... they make some 50% o.k. distribution... thing...
I sure how no one from Stardock or Ironclad see that comment. Never have I seen such an extreme case of entitlement attitude written so succinctly.
Great update list! Practically an expansion pack for free! Also as a GalCiv user I can testify to the advantages of using Stardock central and now impulse to get updates.
And it seems STEAM is now the PC gaming standard. I'm very happy with STEAM, it works great!!.... why not talking to VALVe and work together instead of split Community?
Gaming standard for what? For Valve games? Valve says they've only got 15 million accounts - less than a moderately popular website gets in traffic each month. Maybe Target and Best Buy should just work with Walmart instead of splitting the community.
Your machine locks up playing Sins after you overlock your CPU and you expect a software solution? Am I getting this right?
I LOVE YOU STARDOCK AND IRONCLAD! As good as the initial release is, I hope people really notice just how good 1.04 is. Besides the improvements in balance, the computer AI is really quite challenging and intelligent! What other games have this kind of support?! THANK YOU!
I noticed you replaced his phrase "right of center" with Republican.
It's amazing how melodrama can be substituted for a coherent argument. The market change is pretty minor in real play and some will like it and some won't. But it's a major change.
I'm still chuckling about the claim that game reviewers give smaller company games higher ratings. One look at the top games on game rankings should dispel that myth.
But different people will always have different opinions on things. Look at the Orange Box. There's lots of people going gaga over it. Games for Windows practically wetted themselves over it. I play it and go "meh". It's just a first person shooter bundle with the only innovative game being Portal which has about 5 hours of game play to it imo. It's just so tired. But I wouldn't go onto a valve forum and start asking why people are "drooling" and "fawning" of it. I know I have
What people mean is that there are many different avenues to victory. It isn't just about cranking out the most miliary units and swarming the enemy like it is in most RTS's.
What's so new, or revolutionary, that would drive someone to say this is the best or deepest game they've ever played? Look, I said the game is OKAY, but "the best game I've ever played" is waaaaaaay beyond minor praise.
I gave specific examples. You just seem to ignore them. What's revolutionary? How about the empire tree? This is the first game that lets you manage a massive empire on screen without resorting to some little mini map kludge. It has an
Once again, I haven't criticized anything, I am merely asking people to convince me that Sins is worthy of the praise it seems to be receiving on this board.
And I gave you some examples and so have others. We're not going to "convince" you of anything because we don't care if you like the game or not any more than you care if we like Bioshock or not.
Well, when the second post in the thread is trolling, and its allowed (apparently encouraged) by mods, what else is there to expect?
Second post is trolling? Here's post 2.
I think its mainly a matter of taste.I like that it plays like a slow Dawn of War.I like the Space SF scenario.I like the graphics which are beautiful and scalable(my machine is not bad, but not top notch ).Many well done and unconventional feature also help to set it apart fr
Like I said, I'm just curious, because I do not understand the absolute fawning praise, and there is still no one in this thread that has explained to me why Sins deserves it.
Deserves it as opposed to what? What RTS do you think is better? Isn't the burden of proof on you since you are the one criticizing the game? Explain how, for example, Supreme Commander is better or C&C 3. What RTS do you think is better? I like Sins of a Solar Empire better becau
Yes, because reviewers are totally objective and are never influenced by the marketing in their publications...
Yes, the reviewers were intimidated by the awesome might of the Stardock marketing juggernaut. Please. Different people have different tastes. Sins of a Solar Empire is the best RTS I've ever played in my lifetime. But my reasons for liking it may be things you don't like.
I take back my previous post. The forums still has numerous problems. Editing isn't working correctly, as everyone else has noticed. In addition, I noticed we *still* can't edit our posts after someone has responded to it. I also see that I can't break my posts into paragraphs -- it's as if the Enter key doesn't work. Please fix this as well! Otherwise we're going to have long rambling posts with no discernible breaks in them.
What browser you us
