Again, I am offering to solve this problem; to write something that could possibly create standalone patches from Impulse updates... but I haven't had a single response...
I cannot imagine that SD would allow this, but it would be great. They would lose control over the user. But if they did, it would interesting to see how many would use Impulse or would rather DL a stand alone patch. I would go for the patch myself, obviously.

@Haree78 I will have gain personally. In the sense, that I will no longer be out $40 to $50.00 on software. You are right though, I do stand on principles and as such, in the future I will be very restrained before I ever part with my money again for a game. I happen to understand that playing games is not life. Maybe, making games is a livelihood, but not life. There is a lot more out there. So, I will gain the use of the 40-50 dollars not wasted on something I wi

I never asked anyone to kiss anything of mine or anyone else's. I would ask that you please, point out in my posts where I have been a cranky customer. In fact I have shown restraint, and been polite in my responses and have said thank you for the responses I have received. I have also said, I would go my way and that I knew I was in the minority. You can consider me militant, but I consider it a personal decision, and a good one. As you say, you can go and do what
I honestly don't see how you're getting the idea that there's some draconian restriction here that makes the two even remotely comparable. Especially given your comments just a month and a half ago, and some others a couple months before that...
Thanks for the reply. I say things now due to the fact that when I bought Sins it required zero additional programs to run at its optimum potential. Now a month and half later the community is told that if you want to upgrade to

kryo, ok, I understand. Then I was right and Sins DRM is like MassEffect's DRM which effectively destroyed the users ability to resell the game. However, with MassEffect at least if you had installs left you could sell something that could be updated by the new user.

Since it was recomended in another thread by kryo that the only way to get rid of my copy of Sins is to sell my entire account, this is what I am trying to do. I will sell my account along with the physical copy of Sins (DVD, Manual, Case), which is in mint condition. I have everything setup with a temp email, and I will provide the name and password, so the you can change everyhting immediately. PM me if you are interested as I will make you deal that is worth your time and
this is really not the place to sell your account TaperFade.Everyone here ALREADY HAS ONE!And you sound suspeciously like you are trolling.
Really, I responded to kryo since it is his quote I used to base my reply upon. I am trying to do just what he recommended nothing more, nothing less. If this is not the place then I am sure he will tell me so. To each his own. I have supported StarDock with 5 purchases and I did not and do not like SDC. W
You can resell the retail disc, however the buyer will not be entitled to updates without your account.
Understood. OK, anyone interested in buying my account? If I understand it correctly you would get everything I have. GalCiv (bought it 2 times) AP GalCiv2 (Collectors Edition) Sins $20.00 should do it. I have my account all setup with temp email that you can delete, I will give password, and you can change the name, password an

Maybe I am missing something here, but how is Impulse that different from the DRM in MassEffect? ME installs SecuROM Sins requires Impulse installed to update ME no disk in drive Sins no disk in drive ME requires internet connection on install and content update Sins requires internet connection to register and on content update ME no secondhand sales Sins no secondhand sales The only BIG difference I can see is install limits enforced

I would really like to know, if after downloading the update through Impulse, do I then have the physical patch file on my computer? Or, am I aways beholden to Impulse to download the update again and again if I install and uninstall the game in the future? I could then uninstall impulse and be done with it, correct? For the record, I really disliked SDC, and the result was, I gave away GalCiv, AP, and GalCiv2. Makes me wonder if I will be doing the same with SoaSE? If so, I a

I have SotS and just ordered the Collectors Edition through Target.com. I am looking forward to it coming next week. So now I can play: Space Empire IV, and V SoaSE and SotS I also have GalCivII, but have not played it in a long time. But for whatever reason I am considering getting the latest version in stores for $20.00 that has everything in it. Collectors Edition is it? I simply enjoy SotS but man is it hard. With the DRM that Mass Effect is using, I too would say your summer will be shot. I would advise to blow off ME and buy another StarDock Title. Support developers that treat their users with respect, not like EA and BW are doing with Mass Effect.

SetarcosNous, I cannot comment on the interpretations you mean as I am not sure what you are trying to say there. However...
worshipers automatically assume that the interpretation of the book is correct and it is the interpretations of the universe's message that is flawed.
I would say the "message" is not flawed, but the "messengers" current interpretation of a godless and meaningless universe is flawed. Most Christians do feel that humans are special amongst all animals and in fact above all other creations; that we have rights over every animal and plant.
Well, I am not trying to get into some sort of ping-pong match across the abyss and I will not. I do not understand, if you are unwilling to listen to a person's vantage point why should you expect the other side to embrace your point of view that runs contrary? S
Evolution doesn't disprove any God, that's just propaganda. Again, read answer to #1.
I am not going to get sucked into a tit-for-tat argument. This is the one statement I agree with you on in your responses. Evolution does not nor can it disprove any God is correct. Suffice it to say you have faith in evolution, I have faith in God.

To write a post explaining all that I believe would take up a lot of time and space that few would ever read. You may not agree and that is OK, but I think some of these things bear consideration. Let me give a few bulleted points to part of this topic. 1. Both Creation and Evolution are a matter of faith. Neither side can fully prove its point without a measure of faith. (e.g. Where did matter come from in the first place?) Creation looks outside the material u

I use to play a game called Submarine Titans and it had the ability to tell your ships to fight down to 75%, 50%, 25% health, or to the death. Maybe something like this could be implemented, but fleet wide. Then the AI will only turn tail and run at a certain loss level.

Thanks guys. I never noticed the Red Shield before and did not know you all have been so active. So some of Ironclad were part of Barking Dog? I really enjoyed HW:Cataclysm. I loved finally getting the cannon and firing half way across a map and making a big boom! Corrupting ships was fun, but not nearly as fun as the cannon. Thanks again guys and I look forward to what you create in the future. Too bad you could not redo a Cataclysm type game with things

I am wondering who Ironclad is exactly. I see Frogboy and others from Stardock, but I personally have not seen an Ironclad person talking and updating in the forums.

Yes, I have found if you kill an AI's Capital ship (if they have few) they will turn tail and run even when they out number me in an attack. At times I have jumped after them and at least one occasion, I found the AI was already jumping back to the system they just left.
