Ran into a similar issue with one of my icon sets on Vista, only a few were 'corrupted' in the same way - I opened the set up in package builder and went to the selected icons and opened from there in Icon Developer and found the Vista 256px. icon size reported as 255x255 pixels (?!). May be a bug from having made the icon set on my other PC running XP, anyhow I deleted the icon and made a new Vista compatible icon from Icon Developer on Vista, and that seemed to solve the problem.

Thanks for the tip, I've tried Cursor FX on 3 different PC's and had problems every time - most recently last week I installed it on my brand-spanking new Quad-core Xeon workstation and it seemed to be OK until I closed the dialog box after changing the cursor right after the installation completed - I get 'CursorFx has had an error and will have to close' (approximate wording, I don't remember precisely) message. After clicking OK, the windows cursor is completely gone and I'm left fishing

Here's my scenario; I don't want 4-bit or 8-bit image formats in icons that I wish to use in my collections. I never used to have this problem with the older version. I open an icon, or .icl and attempt to delete the image formats. Most times I will simply hold down shift and select the range I'm trying to delete. I also tried selecting individual icons, and even when I get to the last one I get the error. This is what follows: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If y

I'm having a strange issue where every time I go to change my WB skin in the Configuration panel, most (but not all) skins' task bar appear black. I can open up the skin in SkinStudio, and the taskbar looks normal there, I save it and apply, and the taskbar appears as it should, until the next time I go to apply the skin I have to open and save in SkinStudio. Not much rhyme or reason to it-seems to be as I scroll through the list that if it's a newer skin that has transparency on the taskbar (o

Yeah, as far as all that goes - SDCentral is what I'm using (as stated at the beginning of the post), and CursorFX ain't there. I went to the extent of looking in the Show/hide applications menu and CursorFX Plus is checked to display and all I see under Misc is CursorXP free. I don't really see where I should have to run around in circles to get the thing to show up, and if they don't want me to be able to see it in SDCentral, I suppose I ain't gonna see it and that's that..I see posts from oth

Y'know Dave, thanks for mentioning that - it crossed my mind as I was writing and I somehow forgot to add the caveat that my themes directory pushes well over a hundred, maybe I'll try thinning out the herd down to the ones I actually use until they get it patched. I'll bet that's the crux of the biscuit here. Thanks :)

Curiosity got the best of me and opted for a second go-round with reinstalling CursorXP, then installing CursorFX alongside, after which it made it past the error; this must be a built-in thing where it looks for and imports all of your CurXPThemes (which it did after about 5-10 minutes of disk activity). When it was done the CursorFX ControlPanel opened, and I was able to successfully change my cursor. Checking the CursorXP control panel reveals the 'disable all' box to be checked, so's to prev

I'm having a problem getting CurFX to complete the installation (or re-installation I should say). Initially I was hasty-a bit excited to take a look at the new toys, and didn't think about uninstalling CursorXP. The install seemed to work on that first try, but as it turns out CursorXP was still installed. I looked at the CursorXP config and the 'disable all' box was checked, which made sense, but when I clicked to open the CursorFX config panel, it never showed up onscreen, (although I did see

Hadn't been in here for awhile-just saw you post, these are the "Server" set by Dirceu Veiga - www.fasticons.com . The link to the set from his site: server_icons.zip Many other great icons to be had there on the downloads section, Mr Vega is a truly talented icon artist, I recommend his work highly.

Acknowledged as to the beta; I'm always prepared for something to not be quite right with one, but not being able to finish starting windows raises the bar to a new level. I'm a huge fan of their stuff, but I don't think I'll ever try another Beta from Stardock for anything. I was understandably a little pissy last night but I did manage to rectify the problem by starting up in safe mode and removing IP through SDCentral. Once I was back in, I went to

Add another to the list-I can not boot into windows nor can I rool back to the previous version. Thanks Stardock, clue us in as to how to get our PC's back up and running. Fix this NOW

Using XP? I have the same problems on my Win2K box with some skins that use translucency for skin images - I could be mistaken, but I'm thinking maybe Win2K does not support translucency - the same skins look as they should on my XP box.

I've been dealing with the same issue, although with the caveat that it only happens on the Win 2K machine with imported MSstyles. When I look at the skin in SkinStudio everything looks normal.

Man, that's harsh-sorry to hear you lost so much stuff. I've never had OB cause a BSOD, but I have had it lock a machine up once in awhile. I've used it on my poor little Dell 2650 laptop (with 256M RAM) with few interruptions, (mostly using OB because this is a work PC running Win2K, and I like the features of an XP Start menu). The issue you're running into gives me the feeling that this is a possible HD failure. Second, maybe a bad memory module. I'

Object Desktop is written for the Windows platform, as far as I know the only thing I've seen rumor of is ObjectDock being ported to Mac. The rest, you'd be SOL. I suppose there is sweet irony in that many of us dress our PC's up from time to time to look like a Mac, I have also run across references to Mac software that performs similar functions. I have to admit though, that I have never seen or heard software for, or of a mac user modding OsX to loo

I'm finding my way around SkinStudio and have successfully imported and tweaked a couple of .msstyles, but one of the things I'm having a hard time with is the user icon-in this case it's a start menu with a very narrow StartPanel.UserPane that should not have a user icon picture. I've tried what appears to be the obvious, and I'm still seeing my user icon so I'm at a loss. Anyone know what the trick is?
