Tell the truth. Do you have a Darth Vader helmet in your home?

I suspect random events would make it possible. 1 in ? games depending in opposition polotics. You could make it easier everybody loves everyone, then ramp it up. But even nurturing countries use aggressive tactics to ensure the long term health of their own. Right on! This game might finally such me into actual modding. Thats all I need another obsession. >:(
Indeed. Well said. I enjoyed reading all the documents in the Galactic Encyclopedia. I think I have a good idea what the game is and am quite content to wait until the 26th. Glad to hear that MOO3 is getting some AI patches. I know a lot of people must have worked very hard to produce it and there is a huge fan base for it. I'll give it a spin if they aggressivly support it. Differant game differant feel differant potential fun. Splinter cell vs Hitman 2. For less than $100 why not own both?
The AI is hard coded in C++. I expect it to stay that way. You can download some sample moding type files from the Library on the Gal Civ homepage. Simple text files. To make the games AI, Stardocks unique intellectual property public domain, would be a very bad idea. Business wise that is. Is the music files in an interchangable format, wma, wav, oog, etc?
Yep, it looks like this project has consistant focus, excellent art work, deep AI, and lots of modifiably flexability. I would bet $20 (2.75 to 1) that I am going to really like game. Any takers?
Glad I started it. Looks like a game I didn't even knew existed a week ago is going to be keeping me up past my bed time for quite a while. :d
Ya. No big deal though.
Logical and even handed policy. While there is no safe that can not be cracked. It is the safe manufacturer that makes more money.
DragonSister I suspect in a GAME, these issues will lend themselves to be more like "Said corporation to reeducate employes via brain implants that nuclear waste stored in local comunity will increase labido." But if you care enough, and if the game becomes very popular, you should easly be able to create a more serious and to your way of thinking socially responcible view point, in senerios where such issues will be of rational relavence. :) Nice to see some females in here.
Subject says it all. LOL
Someone, not me, should, will likely write a lengthy careful, full breakdown of what each line in each type of mod file (.tech .anomaly .tech etc) CAN and WILL do. As well as importing graphics and music. I know a few people are already more than brain storming on mods. But an updated lengthy tutorial that is edited by more than one person, preferably a few people, would do a lot to lengthin the lifespan, and increase the user base of GalCiv. Hech, increase the fun too. ;)
Oops did it again, sweet not sweat. >:(
Ya Frogboy, me too. I hate stupid AI like that. It kills a game. As a fiction writer we have the power to make the pay off sweat. It suprises me that game writers miss such an easy way to make there games more fun. (Fun=marketable too.)
RustyBlade here, Humorous events slider: Shift mood of game from more campy fun to more melodramatic seriousness. Text spoken option for all dialog boxes. Perhaps with advisors speaking through one Microsoft Agent voice (MA is free), and all others in an alternative voice of a differant sex, maybe a switch so we could set in the game or sound options, which voice we want to listen to for what kinds of messages. Robotic voices are easy to do too. Like many I read a lot
You can download from the Library now. They are zip files. They contain simple, single text files each, wonderful for future user made modification (MODS) packs, lengthining the life of the game. I would be unhappy without the zip type archiving as an option for myself and others. But exe, extraction files that unzip to default location, as an alternative may be good for others. Just so I can grab them off a friends internet connection and burn them to a cd to take home.
Don't know about box. But the manual is ready for reading on the www.galciv.com homepage. I was reading it yesterday. It's an interesting read. In fact all the articles are. ;)
Just my 2 cents, well maybe 4. I like that Stardock is offering more options than other developers. I would be disappointed if they short changed distribution partners by releasing the full game in any form before it was available through those partners, for that would burn Stardocks bridges for future titles and hurt the long term health of the developer of my soon to be favorite game. Cascading into less resources to continue development of the current release, and dampeni
My mistake there is a higher preportion of new material in the new trailer and of course it is larger. After rewatching all three in a row though I strongly feel the second trailer had much, much, more impact and gave me a better feel for what the product is. The narrator was good in it. Quite type fading in and out of a black screen is old school without at least some driving music behind it. Between the two though? Wish you could insert the new footage on the end with some kicking tunes, a
Actually I am living in the Lakewood area these days. Yes I do know the difference between the contraction and the possesive. But as I am recovering from baby brain strokeS, and re-recovering and re-recovering, I tire of reaching for the dictionary. Actually I tire easily period. Please no appologies, you had NO way of knowing. In fact my grammer in fact my ability to speak is sometimes pretty ------d. But in here I will simply annoy others with such weaknesses, where as the publishers of any so
This is a question I had as well.
Microsoft partner huh. Shoot I live in Tacoma WA, I've been mailing my rotten tomatoes to Redmond for years. Now I have to mail them to Livonia MI? ;)
RustyBlade here, Today 3-13-03, I read all articles in the "Galatic Encyclopedia" accept last half of User Manual leaving off at "Economic Policy." There is a dead link to a preview on your home page. http://www.wewp.com/platform/pc/4211/Previews/633/ Infact www.wewp.com gets nothing, I would suggest you tap into one of the previews listed on www.gamerankings.com for another preview barring their dead link to wewp. I found only three problems in all the article

Darn it I did it again! I looked at it twice and I thought I spelled it Stardock. I have TIA that effect my language skills.
Hey I think I have a real good idea. Especially since you plan to keep development going at some level for the next year. How about a slider to determine how many/percent-of humor events will take place durring our games. I love humor. Others want straight melodrama. Infact somedays I lean very heavy one way or the other. If you include this I will name my first born Stardck.
