Encripted with a personal serial code is perfectly acceptable to me. Archiving with options for floppy size chunks for the less well equiped may be more important than any of us realize. Most people don't know how to span info accross disks. This is just a smattering of the people that will be evaluating GalCiv in that two month sweet spot. I was very pleased to see on the www.gamestop.com GalCiv next on the PC page along with Warcraft III expansion. A real big hitter. Interesting to see so

I appreciate the responces. I read every word of the TCM's manual today. Noted a lot of typos and mixed meanings. GREAT humor in the manual, laugh out loud humor! I wouldn't of been surprised if you got a call from IBM or Microsoft lawyers though. Still I feel less stupid for buying a product that represents it's self with strong consistant clear grammer it's instuctions. Or put another way manuals that have been edited by more than one person. Everything worth writing is worth rewriting. ;)

This is RustyBlade here. Just another user. Below I pasted verbatum the lead developers responce from a very long previous thread. These guys really care about getting this right. I'm betting they will. Just to work through the math here so that people understand exactly what we mean by colony resource handling: Let's say a colony normally gets 100 gold from a colony. Before it reports how much gold actually gets put into that player's economy it goes through this

Frankly I think early or late, a NON independent exe or zip file, would be anal retentive. A LOT of people don't have internet connections at home. And before 3/25/01 most likely neither will I. Although as of last night I am now a registered owner of their "The Corporate Machine." But I feel that is besides the point. Updates and add ons are useless without the game. And by reading the postings above I don't see why the option to download this little 10 meg-er in 1.44 meg chunks couldn

QLORD's comments were quite enlightening. Thank you. Having read quite a bit from the GalCiv forum over the last couple days, I have learned one thing for darn certain. Personally I have enjoyed the intelegent yet also emotionally invested input of you all. Discussions about fair yet challenging and diverse AI alone has been more fun than most demos I have tried. Although I will admit The Corporate Machine's AI has me intriged. In the mean time anyway. ;)

I hope several good mods develop from unknown (new) species. I haven't watched 5 hours of television in since 5 years maybe ten. Movies, thats another thing. The worldS of X-Men? Planet Vampires vs. Planet Lawyers? Oops same thing.

I Just played through The Corporate Machine demo a few times. After reading through the a PDF Manuals walkthrough section. No matter how user friendly a new game is the inclusion of a quality tutorial not only eases some players into a game that may had given up on. But it shows compassion from the developers. I also played through some of the Monopoly Tycoon tutorials today and it was very informative. And took some of the pressure off, creating antisipation instead of stress. This was

My frustration with the big publishers is the same. SimCity 4, lacks any decent size premade cities and all their terrains included in the game are really boring. And the game lacks tile sets that were in SimCity 3's expansion pack. So obviously they are holding back big time. Not appreciated. And it is a little buggy too. My neighbor played it on my system, and for those reasons said he would wait until it hits the bargain bin. That is why the inclusion of Stategy First as a publisher for GalCi

Hope not. The library computer labs are very busy all day here in Tacoma WA with people that who can not afford Internet service, yet I see quite a few of them brousing the game sites. Besides proprietary support system would likely be reviewed in a bad light as pro game reviewers comment. "You will have to install additional publisher software if you want game updates." :notsure:

Thanks Brad for the 3/6/2003 6:28:48 PM, post. Clears things up quite nicely. And sounds very logical, yet human. I have been frustraited with the lack of good AI in games for some time. I think that is why dice rolling is so popular. Yet I have always thought that AI would be very easy to develop. Of course I feel the same way about chocolate cake. But till the current time I have no idea what I would actually put in it. Coffie beans?

Great, demos speak volumes. MOO3 was high on my list, but after gamespot video review of it, I will wait for an extensive patch that may never happen. A couple of guys on their development team was quoted by gamespy at the Game Developers Conference as saying the reason the AI was so bad was that the game went through three ownerships and never had a real mastermind at the helm. I was very relieved to find out about GalCiv. And the extensive info well available here. As well as at gamerankin

These comments don't say much positive about the games music. But I have an idea. What about an allternative track that has occational space noise like partial communications cutting in and out, static, quicky alliance commercials. All this along with game system and voices enabled, but music disabled. I love Stronghold Crusaders music, even downloaded it (with permission www.swordandpistol.com ) But I still sometimes want my own tunes. Yet I want all the simulator ambiance I can get.

The reason I ask is although I am sure you're Stardock ap is great. I will be needing to use public computers as I will be dumping my Internet service entirely due to it being too distracting from my work. (Fiction and non-fiction writing). So like others I am sure I will need to be able to log on from say a Kinkoes Coppiers or a library computer on occation. Or it might be more convienient to have ZDNets www.gamespot.com burn a disk option to dump the updates along with some demos and other pat
